Adam Banks
The air show at Tauranga (NZTG) was almost a washout out. Grey and overcast - even the odd drizzle. A bit of a shame for the organisers - particularly as the weather returned to a more normal NZ summer the next day! Incredibly, I managed to get sunburned even through dense cloud ... so it really does pay to listen to those [ozone layer hole] warnings. The usual crop of fine Kiwi warbirds - Spitfire, Harvards, Corsair - plus a fine showing by the RNZAF with an Orion and a 50-yr old Hercules (still looking brand new). However - I really needed to take some pics of one of my favourites - the NZ Warbirds DC-3 - to do my final (honest!!) tweaks. Here's the *real* beauty: ... and my attempt to recreate the shot (I think I need to pump up the tyres!!): Following up with a trip along and out of the Karangahake Gorge: Moving on up north to the Coromandel coast: Pointing back home to NZAR (Ardmore): Anyone who grabbed any of the older versions might want to update theirs to v5: http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?/files/file/4407-manfred-jahns-douglas-c-47-v2-zk-dak-nz-warbirds/ For those people that have somehow missed my countless postings (!) - this is using Manfred Jahn's *stunning* (freeware) C-47 v2. olderndirt
Other than 'shutter speed' on the props, those first two are virtually identical
