Stillwater Posted July 17, 2013 Share Posted July 17, 2013 After the rescue mission ( http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/61413-emergency-call-in-banff/ ) the hiker´s wife was very thankful. Not what you might initially think - she dropped a pleasant tip for the heli crew. So I could afford to take a day off, and do a mountain tour with the 185. So I took off from Banff "International"... ... climbed over Castle Mountain ... ... towards Lake Louise. Another nice resting place for the luxury hiker... . Up into the mountains... ... across Crowfoot Glacier ... ... and exploring Takakkaw Falls. As you can see, they are fed from Daly Glacier above. A great view from the plane! ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Takakkaw_Falls ) Tocher Ridge fire lookout. The hut is brilliantly placed, though not easy to spot (can you even see it on the picture?). But the guys over there assist Jaydor´s team ( http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/61434-wild-fire-season-trio/ ) as good as they can. Flying down, past Emerald lake to Kicking Horse river... ... and into the Kicking Horse Canyon. Well, I will not try to fly under these bridges... ... but I will enjoy an afternoon in Golden, with one or two cold ones. Enjoy the shots!
