Stillwater
While cleaning my equipment (especially the inside area of the coffee mugs) an emergency call came in: A hiker had suffered a broken leg somewhere in the mountains west of Banff, and his spouse just managed to get them both to a small hut. Unfortunately they did not know the exact location, and their mobile phone batteries were low... very low ... down. So it was up to the rescue team to follow their proposed trail, and bring first aid. They had started at the Banff Springs (probably luxury hikers)... ... so we left Banff in the assumed direction: Difficult to see the huts, lodges and chalets here...: Aaah, Sundance Cabin just below: OK mates, according to the logbook they had been here, but left already. Not easy to find ones way here, even with a helicopter... Assiniboine Lodge. Maybe they´re here? Nope. Or in Bryant Cabin? No success neither. When reaching Trail Centre Cabin the park management called me - at least before landing: The couple was here some 6 hrs ago, and wanted to proceed to Fortune Cabin. OK, so let´s hurry across Spray lake... ... find the Cabin ... ... and: Yes! We got them. Well, the leg doesn´t look to good, but we´ll take care. So up again over Spray lake... ... down Bow River... ... to Canmore Heli Station: Mission accomplished.

Jocko Flocko
Outstanding screenshots! I absolutely love when members formulate a scenario in their heads to go along with the flying experience as it makes for a really great presentation afterwards. I just noted this area down in my log as another great region and helicopter base I have never checked out before in the past. Great work.

To be honest: the story developed itself, when planning the trip with Plan-G. And the choice of a powerful helicopter was also obvious. Great fun to discover these details (and also challenging...).
