Stillwater
Out of Anchorage I took a plane with multiple landing options, you never know what happens up here. A slight cloud layer over the big city. Not longer a slight cloud layer over Chugach channel... ... on the way to Portage Lake... ... and Whittier. Harriman Glacier (and its neighbours) show up in the north. There was no real visibility during the remaining flight, so the next option to see scenery was on the descend... ... well controlled... ... into Vldez.

VH-KDK
Beautiful images Gerold, just watch out for floating ice when you alight on the water or you might end up with a soggy cat. 2

BradB
Your flight reminds me of the old locals saying Gerold : The weather is always sh_tier in Whittier .

Thanks for reminding me, even these cats do not like water and cold conditions - I´ll better take her further south. 1 hour ago, bernd1151 said: Great pics, Gerold. Alaska is one of my favourite areas to explore. Thanks Bernd. Glacierwise it can compete with Norway, now we have to count fjords, bridges, landing strips. Interesting to compare... 1 hour ago, lifejogger said: Excellent shots of Alaska and nice landing. Thank you John B., as the cat does not have flaps or spoilers you need to plan well in advance. 58 minutes ago, BradB said: Your flight reminds me of the old locals saying Gerold : The weather is always sh_tier in Whittier . Thank you John B., (copy-paste from above!), a wise saying, though maybe not their official tourism slogan. 1
