celebrating an old friend -- "Faded Glory"

Hi all. One of my favorite planes in FSX was a freeware repaint of the Carenado C185. The painter called it "Faded Glory" and perfectly captured this old back-country workhorse's personality. I've been able to bring it forward into P3D4 and look forward to many another adventure in it. Today's set is merely to try it out. We are at the ORBX Goheen family airport near Battle Ground, WA (my hometown). Our climbout turns us toward the mouth of the Columbia Gorge--but that's another flight.

I grew up with the Goheens as friends of our family. That may be Gordon on the porch.

The strip is all-weather, with only the occasional cow.

This is logging and dairy country. Lots of trees still left.

Up, up, and away.

Out over Camas and the Cascade foothills.

Coming to the edge of the mouth of the Columbia Gorge. Troutdale and Portland just off to the right.

All that beautiful ground texture and detail - not in TE land any more.

Thanks, OND. Nope, no fancy stuff. Just good old basic ORBX.

Beautiful shots Rodger. Love that old girl. What a great paint job.:)

Ain't she pretty? She feels just right out there in the back country or up in the mountains. Thanks, flyingleaf.

Wonderful set, Rodger. I love everything: the angles, the lights and shadows, the trees, the grass, the aircraft. In one word, it's perfection. :)

Thank you, Dario. Coming from you, I'm framing the comments. :)

Super shots Rodger, the scenery looks super.

Thanks, John. Growing up there, I had no idea of how much beauty there is to be found in the PNW. Sure do appreciate it now.
