Scott Harmes
Awesome shots Jaxon! Great shots of the G! (MCG, or Melbourne Cricket Ground for anyone who doesn't know). 4 hours ago, flyingleaf said: Great shots indeed. But what's a footy? Footy is short for Football, or in this case Australian Rules Football.
VH-KDK
An excellent pair of images. How the ground has changed since I first went to it in 1981!

You are lucky to have a team Don, mine got thrown out in '96. Another reason the game today is a pale shadow of what it was.
Jack Sawyer
Great shots but I too didn't know what footy was, and what's "on the G" mean?

Nice details in these shots. I can easily locate my first steps in the area in 2002.

The first game I ever went to see at the MCG when I was a little nugget was Fitzroy vs North Melbourne. I must have been pretty young. I played under 10s for the Seymour Football Club and our jumpers were the same as Fitzroys so we were all kind of honorary Fitzroy supporters. It's just how many of us refer to the MCG...typical aussie thing to shorten it...MCG is too long! The 'G is way quicker :p
Taph
Strange, in the rest of the world if you said it was a cricket ground, you would not need to ask what is on, as it would obviously be Cricket
