shermank Posted August 16, 2018 Share Posted August 16, 2018 I thought this was going to be a routine short commuter flight from KASE to KTEX. My passengers were members of the Scandinavian Bikini Skiing Team. They wanted to see the Telluride slopes in the off season to get an idea of what they would be up against during the Winter Ski Tournaments. Never mind them. I was up against the weather. Yet another lightening storm...with a cross wind of 15 knots at TO. Once airborne this is what I was up against.... And, then came the lightning and down drafts It was touch and go for a while....but, finally....a break in the weather as I was approaching KTEX. I actually had a visual approaching my downwind leg But, as we all know, it's not over until it's over In pouring rain, I turned base Now, final and landing was in sight My Bikini Skiing Team passengers were back on the ground, and I was ready to call it a day, even if the storm was far from over Sherm Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
