Wellington (NZWN) to Queenstown (NZQN) a real world flight taken from Flightaware.  Route is; Taxup1Q Sabda Y622 Mesix H159 CH Y266 Elruv Elruv4B RNAV-Y Rwy 23.  Flight NZM5607 is an Air New Zealand ATR 600 but we'll do it in a Dash Q400.  The majority of domestic flights into Q/town by Air New Zealand are with their A320's but they do use their ATR's on some flights.  JetStar also fly domestic A320's into Q/town.  International flights are only from Australia and they are Air New Zealand and JetStar A320's, and Qantas and Virgin Australian B737-800's.  Scenery shots are ORBX NZ North Island, ORBX NZ South Island and ORBX Queenstown

All set ready to go.  Will be an hour 40 flight

Getting down the Kaikora Coast heading towards Christchurch.  The Kaikora area was hit with a Mag 7.8 earthquake in November 2016 which really devastated the landscape.  The main road and rail links were only re-opened in recent months.

Flying over Christchurch and the CH VOR.  Christchurch was also hit by a major Mag 6.3 earthquake in February 2011.  187 people lost their lives.  2018-6-12_12-35-55-336.thumb.jpg.9ee79147795ac361076dba894ec6b70a.jpg

Starting to get interesting.  We're heading for the mountains.  Q/Town is considered as a alpine town.  It's altitude is about 1200'.  Lake Wanaka and the township of Wanaka is on the right of the shot.  The township is below the right wing.  Just below the aircraft rego number is the Wanaka airport which is world famous for the Warbirds over Wanaka airshow which is held every two years.

The township of Arrowtown is in view.  It's famous for it's gold mining way back in the 1800's.  Queenstown airport is just around the corner of the hill on the left hand side before Arrowtown.
