The usual noise and safety concerns being made by those who recently move into the area next to an airport that has been operational for decades. All of Victoria Ambulance fixed wing flights go here which is close to many of the major Melbourne hospitals. You have just flown from Avalon which is a very long way from Melbourne and that is where they want the Vic Ambulance flights to go to. I am very familiar with Avalon and Essendon, although my mode of transport between them is unfortunately a car. I used to live near Essendon, and always wandered up to the airport for some plane spotting and photos. I have also done plenty of shopping there, and worked there a few times. I drive past both airports quite often in my travels, and visit Avalon every second year for the Avalon Airshow. I’d love to see that area, it looks beautiful. Oz has always been on my list of must visit places but with my medical issues I don’t know.
