bernd1151
We are back in Cambridge Bay, but now we have March, which means much longer hours of day light. Our destination Ulukhaktok Holman airport further west at the Pacific coast is some 280 nm away, if we would fly direct. But first we have to deliver some urgently needed supplies to Kugluktuk, before we can set course for our final destination. Let’s check out the plane Hmmmh….and what is this? Are these your manuals? The photo of the Ju-52 I like though And what is this guy doing there so close to my plane???? Doesn’t this idiot see, that the engines are running? Let’s get the hell outa here Yezzzzzz, finally!! Now I can start to relax again Hey boyz, get off your bloody “manuals” and have a look. Ain’t this sunrise pretty Ok, this is my favorite shot, I have to admit Oooops, burning daylight I see that you fellas are still studying your manuals. Ok, but let me tell you one thing: that bottle of Bordeaux Grand Cru over there next to the bunk bed, that will be mine for tonight Yap, we sure could need a bit of paint here and there. But no worries, under the skin the old girl is still in her prime We have reached our first port of call Kugluktuk. Unfortunately the runway is damaged, a big bird like us is presently not allowed to land there So we have dropped our goods from the air. And on we go Should one ever decide to drop out of this crazy world and look for a quiet spot, where one can practice the art of inner peace, don’t look any further, this sure is the place for it Ulukhaktok, here we come What is absolutely amazing is that even in these far away outposts, usually completely overlooked by Microsoft, thanks to ORBX you’ll find some decent airport buildings and even people flow. Well done ORBX and many thanks!! Ok, give me that bottle of Bordeaux NOW!!
Jack Sawyer
Unbelievably cool shots Bernd! All of it, the sunrise, the pretty girls, and the cargo bay. Man does that bring back memories of "comfortable" flight on those webbing "seats". Flown on many Herky birds and they were all noisy, turbulent, and very powerful. VH-KDK
Wonderful slight with an amusing narrative. Great shot just lifting off from the runway. Best not to drink the wine as you will find it impossible to pronounce the place names over the radio.

mooneys21
Thanks for your reply, Bernd " I didn't expect you here" Well, like the rest of us here, I'm an Orbx shareholder -- at least that's how I feel after all the money they've received from me.
