bernd1151
Having just passed the city of Duisburg I was flying yesterday along the river Rhine, when I came to this monstrosity and my first reaction was: “What on earth is this?” Then I remembered that the oldest and largest German steel producer ThyssenKrupp had one of its locations somewhere around here. So I looked it up on google, which confirmed it: Very well done, ORBX And of course you know already what happens next…. Thanks for viewing
VH-KDK
Outstanding shots Bernd. The scenery has risen to another level in GEN. Came across a power station the other day in GEN. Now not only the cooling towers but also some other buildings too, much more realistic.

bernd1151
Thanks a lot my friends for your kind comments. It's very much appreciated! 1 hour ago, Bluebear said: the Thyssen Steel, which you've seen, lies further in the north of Duisburg Cheers Bluebear Thanks for pointing this out Bluebear, but I'm not giving up so easily The Thyssen Steel facility that can be seen from your google photo has no access to the Rhine. When you have a look again at the google photo that I have included and compare it with my following screenshot, you can see that both have almost the same opening from their site to the Rhine. Gosh, I love it, when we discuss such details here. A couple of years back this would have hardly been possible.

Guest
Thank you Mate for that special focus over ThyssenKrupp at Duisburg. That place wasn't obvious to create in 3D as it's not open to public even if we can consider it as a remarkable industrial citadel to visit

Frank Schnibben
Fantastic captures of this eerily beautiful place! Btw., Bluebear is right: The PR and the custom models show the steel works ThyssenKrupp in Bruckhausen and Beeckerwerth in the north of Duisburg. However, the iron and steel works Krupp Mannesmann (HKM) in Duisburg Hüttenheim look fairly similar. Anyway, great shots!
Bluebear
Thanks Frank, I couldn't have explained it better. My map was a little too small, otherwise he could have seen it. Bernd was right, the smal harbour looks very similar to Krupp Mannesmann Harbour in the south. Thanks the team from GEN for such detailed scenery.
