Mallard
Where else to go for a shake down in the Meteor than with a flight in the RAAF Meteorites-aerobatic team livery to Wolfe Creek crater in WA? Waypoint in sight, so it's time to go down closer for a look-see And there it is - Wolfe Creek meteorite crater Right - been there, done that Westward ho to today's destination Roebuck bay Applying the speed brakes Dropping the undercarriage Nice and easy does it Whaddaya mean, ceep clear of the doors? VH-KDK
Excellent shots Mallard. What a fantastic looking plane, how does it go. I just hope your flying is good enough not to make any craters with your Meteor!

PDX Flyer
Such different wonderful "Rusty" looking color of the landscape. I really like the "Applying the Speedbrakes" shot.
Jack Sawyer
Great shots, the level of detail in that crater is amazing. I loved it all parked up too.
Mallard
Thanks a lot for the comments, mates! Much appreciated! On 10.10.2016 at 10:29 AM, VH-KDK said: ...how does it go. I just hope your flying is good enough not to make any craters with your Meteor! It flies quite nicely - if you watch your speeds! (it was used as aplane for several aerobatic troupes, after all). Get too fast and the snaking starts (just like the real one, as I read up later on). But I've almost never before made such perfect landings as in this plane. Point it where you want to land and it will get you there like it's running on rails. Just a bit of playing with the throttles necessary... So much for not making craters Cheers Mallard

To be fair - I had a bucket load of loyalty points, so I got the plane for a very competitive price Cheers Mallard
Bassman
Love the last shot, especially the shadows of the aircraft and equipment.
