rick66 Posted August 26, 2016 Share Posted August 26, 2016 Departed YBBN Brisbane today around 10 am for Merimbula NSW South coast and then onwards to King Island in the Bass Strait. Today i used the Lancair Pocket Rocket for a high cruise speed of 250kts with an estimated flight time of 2hrs 15, not bad....! looking South east towards Stradbroke Island Gold Coast looking North. On short final at Coffs Harbour just in time for an early Lunch Departing for Merinbula That Place!! Not on my bucket list this tour but i will fly under it one day..... Very Scenic area south of Sydney. Ok time for a break and a change of Aircraft at Merimbula. The Navajo will do nicely for the final leg today. Crossing the Victorian Coastline for King Island... King Island insight.. What`s for Dinner? King Crayfish, King Oysters...... Tiny little bush strip to land on.. how cool! And that`s a wrap Folks for today. Well tomorrow will be the 10th and final leg of my Hard Yakka tour, a leisurely hop around the Apple Isle and shoot back across to YMML to complete my Journey. cheers. Though, you still have to discover King Island: The Island you landed today is Flinders Island! So take your time to go there, and maybe spend one more day to discover the Apple Island...
