  1. Hi all. In an Amazon review of my first novel, ROORD: To War in a Rubber Duck: Volume I: The Air War, a gentleman said "I am 89 years old and I venture to say this, of the many books I have read, is my favorite, next to the Bible." I have been walking tall every since--what a compliment! Which leads to this week's topic. THIS WEEK'S MEANINGLESS TOPIC: What compliment or compliments have you most treasured over the years?
  2. May all go well in the year to come. Happy Birthday, Misha.
  3. Great playlist, Adam. Thanks for sending it to us.
  4. Hi all. Having spent almost two decades with Fritz the Clown Prince, our beloved Manx cat, I am quite sure that animals have a sense of humor. Which fact leads us to this week's topic. THIS WEEK'S MEANINGLESS TOPIC: Why is this cat laughing?
  5. Time marches on. Happy day after your birthday, John, and a good year ahead.
  6. OND, I hope you are talking about XP11 and not yourself!
  7. I recently went back to P3D4 and all-Orbx scenery, including Global, LC, and regionals. I'm using two local airports--Bonner's Ferry and Idaho Falls--and loving every minute of it. I still think Orbx scenery is cream of the crop. No, really.
  8. Uncles Bill Roberts and Al Crumbaker, USN, Pacific War. Friend Dick Hostikka, US Army, Viet Nam.
  9. Hi all. Here in the USA, this weekend is Memorial Day weekend. On Memorial Day, we Americans honor those who died in service to country. That fact leads to this week's topic -- which actually is not meaningless at all, but rather deeply meaningful. THIS WEEK'S TOPIC: who do you honor on your nation's equivalent of Memorial Day?
  10. Research for my second novel included several books about conditions in post-war Germany. One brave woman indeed, TuFun. I'm glad she's with a loving son at this stage of her life. Well done, Sir.
  11. Me too on the above. I know it's a matter of sales economics, but I'm still hopping up and down with excitement for the Asia release date. Lots of places I want to fly there, and Orbx LC would make them so much better.
  12. Thanks for the reference, Pete. I'll add it to the must-use list.
  13. Thanks, John. I'll study this along with my books and Squirrel on YouTube. Someday, it will all come together.
  14. Thanks, Carlos. I bought two books and am watching the instruction videos. Give me a year or so and I'll make it.
  15. Hi Ken. Normally I fly P3D4, but am with FSX Steam right now in order to fly a C-7 Caribou on some routes. MSFS has proved difficult for me to work with--too big a leap from the old time-tested MS flight buttons and control commands to this new approach. I still can't figure out how to change views . I'll keep puttering, though. MSFS is definitely the sim of the future.
  16. Many more screens to you, Mate! Happy day.
  17. Hey OND, after you have downed all the cold ones offered above, have a nice birthday nap. Congratulations on completing another year.
  18. Ken is right--choose (1) or (2) for each category. I had in mind hearing from our guys who live in affected areas. Those who mistook the question can revote--or take the thread and run with it. That's okay, too. We have our fun however we can get it
  19. Hi all. Here in the United States, many are looking forward to the emergence of the 17-year cicadas. They will emerge in great numbers, reproduce, and disappear for another seventeen years. People, however, who live in the areas where this will happen are not so thrilled. They will be inundated by bugs for several weeks. I guess it's all in the perspective--and distance involved. Which leads us to this week's topic. THIS WEEK'S MEANINGLESS TOPIC: Are the following (1) national treasures or (2) regional pests? A. KANGAROO (1) (2) B. KOMODO (1) (2) C. WOLF (1) (2) D. OLD GUYS (1) (2)
  20. Here's to Don, our Forum friend, Whom life has dealt a Joker. Don't worry, Don, We've got your back. With voices mediocre. We'll sing your praise For all these days With voices string and bold, (And out of tune and wheezy, Don, You know we all are OLD). . The Neil Hill Memorial Choir
