Just my opinion, but this whole d**n website is getting harder and harder to want to visit anymore!!

It seems you don't know, what Throwback Thrursday is about.

Hey Wolfco, how does the AI density slider work withAI traffic turned on. Should it be set at 100%?

Hello Howard, my appologies for the late reply. As stated above I only use live traffic and there is no density slider for this option (did not remember this). Unfortunately I have no experience what a good setting for AI traffic is.

Hi there Wolfgang. Let's see what I can do for you...so when you have a flight loaded up, and you are in your cockpit. Move your mouse to the menu bar at the top of the screen (the one that disappears until you move your mouse up there). Then, from that menu, select the Cameras button. In the menu window that then opens, near the top, is the toggle switch for TrackIR that Asobo has added. Also, you can now assign a Hotkey/button to that toggle switch in your flight controls section. This hotkey assignment option is the only thing that makes the workaround tolerable until Asobo actually fixes the TrackIR issue. So, when flying and using your TrackIR when it is active, anytime you want to pause your TrackIR, say to look offscreen at a map or something, take a drink of coffee or tea, or whatever, you press the hotkey or button you have assigned in MSFS to toggle off TrackIR momentarily. Then, when you are looking back on screen, you press the same button to toggle TrackIR back on. It's a similar process to using the Pause TrackIR feature that is built into TrackIR that now doesn't work in MSFS, but not quite as efficient. Hopefully, Asobo gets this fixed sometime soon, although I fear they might make us wait until the next big update. We shall see.

I hope I explained it well enough. If you still have questions, let me know.

    Cheers!

    Landon

Perfect Landon, thanks a lot! I did not think of the menu bar on top of the screen and have always been searching in the Camera menu under Options/General Options. I have also assignet a hotkey, as you have suggested. Let's hope, Asobo will fixe this issue ASAP.

    Thanks again, Wolfgang

And something else I just discovered. If you are a TrackIR user, whenever you PAUSE TrackIR (with a hotkey or button on your controls), that will now disable TrackIR in the MSFS Cameras control panel. You then have to open the Camera Options window and re-toggle TrackIR back to on for it to work in MSFS. The best part is you have to do this every time you pause TrackIR OR, if your TrackIR loses focus. <sigh>

    Hi Landon,

my Trackir doesn't even work at start up. And I also haven't found a Trackir section in the Cameras control panel. Could you please advise, where exactly to find it.

    Thanks and cheers, Wolfgang

I have now read over there at Avsim and in the MSFS-forum that SU7 has introduced abrupt weather changes. Since I have been absent from the sim for the past few days, I haven't been able to check this by myself yet. But if this is true it is a major drawback. These smooth changes of Live Weather has been one of my most favourite features of MSFS. I imploringly hope that they sort this issue out ASAP.

Okay, trying not to be frustrated with Asobo...SU7 installed fine for me, no problems downloading or installing. BUT, after install, loaded up first flight, and everything is turned on now....taxi markers, POI markers, aircraft labels, and the stupid instrument HUD overlay. I know how to turn everything off, except, nothing will turn off that stupid HUD overlay. And, it's on whether I am in cockpit or drone mode. Anyone else having this issue or know how to turn of the friggin' thing?

    Landon

EDIT: Figured it out...of course, they moved the Instrument HUD Cockpit setting out of the camera section and into User Experience section. Why? I have no idea. But there it is.

I am an avid user of TrackIr too. So these are not really good news.

    Hi all,

Is there a coverage area map for this product, I have seen only one on another web site, can't see anything on the Orbx site, is there areason for this or have I missed it?

    Thanks,

    Brian

You'll find the map in this thread. You have to scroll down to post #9.

You can imagine yes but I don't think the projects are related :-)

Yes that did cross my mind John, but not sure how much development would be common to both sims?

It might be possible, that Orbx bought the mesh data for OLC Asia first and then also used them for the Himalaya mesh. That would have been cost efficient.

Yes, I have to admit a bit frustrating given Orbx has just released their Himalaya and Central Asia Mesh for MSFS.

I could imagine, that this mesh is actually a spin-off product of the OLC Asia development.

Just took off from Jomson, its all superbly crisp, so much so it felt 'wrong' at first, but you quickly adapt.

The only question I have is that I still see 'patched' satellite imagery in certain places, did this not get replaced? Its not a deal breaker or anything, just curious. But overall very pleased, great job.

A mesh only provides elevation data, no textures.

  11. Air New Zealand operated the "Coral Route" for over 50 years.

The initial route was Auckland - Nadi - Rarotonga - Papeete vv.

It was then reduced to Auckland - Nadi - Rarotonga vv. and finally closed in 2007.
