Well this is my 2000th post and it took something special(IMHO) to get me out of the much loved Twotter.

I was only going to take a relatively short hop from Tipella to Stave Lake, but it was a pleasant day, the company was just heaven and the scenery in the ORBX world, well just breathtaking.

So here goes and I hope you enjoy looking as much as I enjoyed flying.

1.vGhUk.jpg

Take off from Harrison Lake and passing over Tipella, gaining height before doing a 180 and looking for a suitable hole in the wall.

2.6wV7b.jpg

Looking back towards Port Douglas and the Lillooet River.

3.EZgmD.jpg

Passing Coon Peak on the right.

4.dMz.jpg

Winslow Peak is straight ahead. We shall take the left valley.

5.5IvfP.jpg

Wislow S3 and S5 are ahead.

6.ERHjl.jpg

Bremner S4 is behind the CL-215.

7.9BzsL.jpg

About to follow Winslow Creek to Stave Lake.

8.APnqz.jpg

The very prominent Stonerabbit Peak.

9.a9cDq.jpg

Out of the confines of the valley and Kunzleman Peak and Mount Kranrod are standing tall. Futhark is behind the CL-215.

10.1wRCj.jpg

The Stave River flows past Stave Lake Airport our original destination.

11.IUT3D.jpg

We fly past the friendly sounding Mount Robbie Reid.

12.d5R1.jpg

Miracle Valley is to the left and Stave Falls to the right.

13.4A3CM.jpg

Devils Lake is to the left with Hoover and Cannell Lakes on the right.

14.UaRX4.jpg

At Websters Corners with Alouette Lake in the distance.

15.WjEfB.jpg

The Canadair CL-215, a truly great aeroplane to fly but the only problem for me is that it is not noisy enough. It had to be good to get me out of the DHC-6.

16.ba85.jpg

Pitt Meadows on the Fraser River.

17.ti2zw.jpg

Looking up from Pitt Meadows Regional Airport.

18.n3Gqv.jpg

19.60Pqx.jpg

Turning over Port Coquitlam.

20.u4Mdj.jpg

Loosing height rapidly to land on the Fraser.

21.TIRle.jpg

And down. Such diverse scenery for a reasonably short flight.

Hope you enjoy.

Congratulations, and thanks for the great tour and descriptions! The scenery in this area is really great.

Lovely plane selection, btw, even though "not noisy enough".

I like to have the volume up as loud as the missus can put up with it!

congrats Martyn, and thanks for sharing all the great screen grabs with us...

Very impressive!

Cheers,

Fritz
