Neither Fred or Wootton

Fred Basset, for those who don't know was a cartoon by Grahame, in the 60s and Royal Wootton Bassett is a town between Swindon and Lyneham in the UK.

The Beagle B.206 Basset was a light communications aircraft 20 of the 80 built were for the RAF. They were built from 1965-69 when production was ended to allow the pup trainer to be built.

They were a very popular aircraft much sought after by private operators, with 3 being operated by the RFDS in Australia.

Always good to see one in my spotting days and the sound of those Rolls Royce Continentals on take off was magic to the ears.

This Basset is flying from South Gasline Airport to Birchwood.

Here is a link to the Basset for anyone who is interested. I have found this a very good and easy to fly freeware twin.
