Stillwater
I know you have been waiting for your pilot for about a week, while he was skiing in the Alps (in real life, and in the European ones, but the sentence fits). And now the pilot is here! All seated, engines running. And here we go out, towards Mitre Peak. Looking back into Milford Sound... ... and ahead towards the Tasman Sea. Slightly north we cross Martins Bay. And Big Bay should be suited for a swim as well (just a bit on the cold side...). Heading 315°, with some hills ahead. The coastal landscape looks great, this is Okuru River. Haast River and the city of the same name. You like a history lesson? - Sir Johann Franz Julius von Haast (1 May 1822 – 16 August 1887) was a German-born New Zealand explorer, geologist, and founder of the Canterbury Museum in Christchurch. He was not only doing excursions, geological and geographical expeditions, but also contributed a lot to the knowledge about the extinct bird Moa: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julius_von_Haasthttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moa End of history lesson - If you drive this way you would use SH6, for example across Paringa River. 10 Minutes later we pass Fox Glacier... ... and finally we land at Franz Josef airstrip. Just to show you what we were talking about.

Testing in the next days will show if we captured some extra giveaway from the international meeting places... 1 hour ago, bernd1151 said: Mighty fine flight, Gerold. No crash on the mountain and not on the road, we even set a record on low fuel consumption (guess why).

Sniper31
Great excursion Gerold (in sim AND in real life)! Good to see you back here, although I know how enjoyable a ski getaway is Nice to hear you got to hit the slopes there in Europe. I've skied all over the U.S. but not in Europe yet. Some day Thankfully, the ski resorts here in Colorado are staying open until the end of May, so plenty of more time for me to get some runs in. I did miss you though, and I missed seeing your updates and adventures in flight sim. So, welcome back! Nice to see the flight route map again Oh, great screenshots too! Thank you Karl. I also love these lessons next to the route, in this case I saw a TV doc about Mr. Haast some weeks ago. 14 hours ago, Sniper31 said: Great excursion Gerold (in sim AND in real life)! Landon Thanks a lot for your comment and welcome, Landon. I would love to ride some slopes in America some day, but on the other hand this will be quite an expensive (and not too ecologic) way just to find an alternative to what we already enjoy close by... Have you ever thought of checking in with ski luggage in the modern no-luggage-included times ?! BTW, the snow already started to get wet after, say 1400, so the season will end soon. The next flight & map is already prepared, but I also have a gap of one week in office & home work to cover, so it ain´t easy for me to add more flights these days...
