The Everglades

I take off from Everglades Airpark, which is a small airport at the park’s western side and fly south-east. The park is so huge, this flight covers only a small portion

That was a great movie - Susan Sarandon can walk my wing any day.  You realize if you land and rent an airboat the State of Flordia will take all your Burmese pythons.  $50 for the first four feet then $25 each additional foot - could pay for the vacation.

A beautiful set Berndt.

It appears to be a very desolate area.

Desolate indeed, Martyn, but very enjoyable to experience either by boat, airboat (very very noisy) or plane :)

Oh yeah, I loved that movie too, especially the last part, where they chased eachother. But what do you mean with the Burmese python? How do you get it to Florida? :)

Thanks Bernd.

The Burmese Python is now established in the Everglades and wreaking havoc with the native animal inhabitants.

They are believed to have originated from pet pythons that escaped or were released by their owners.

The estimated numbers range from 30,000 to 300,000 snakes!
