VH-KDK
Continuing down the coast towards Bowen, Queensland. 9. Cape Bowling Green, at 14km long, is the longest spit in Australia. There is no road access to the cape. 10. The Burdekin River can be seen below the Duke. The Burdekin flows into Upstart Bay and is Australia's largest river by peak discharge volume. 11. Shrouded by clouds is Cape Upstart but we will easily clear the hills which rise to almost 2000 ft. The cape was named by Captain Cook in June 1770. 12. There are no roads to the park and access is only by boat. Visitors must be completely self sufficient and beware of stingers and crocs!
