VH-KDK
Coming into land at Astoria after a flight from Twin Oaks. 1. Founded in 1811 Astoria was the first City in Oregon. 2. It was also the first City west of the Rockies. 3. The city is named after J.J.Astor, an investor whose American Fur Company founded Fort Astoria at the site. 4. Today a deep water port is located here as well as the 4.1 mile Astoria-Megler Bridge. 5. The population is just 9,500 but you would have thought that at least one of them would have cut those darned trees down at the end of the runway.
