Hi All, set up RAF Marham and Duxford over the weekend with ACG Marham and the MAIW packs with Tornado GR-4's and F-35 Lightnings.

As you all know I am a sucker for the Tonka so I had to set its nest up. Its so nice not to be billy no mates at Duxford and at Marham now, I had some old FS9 AI screwing up my AI, fixed that and et voila, Company lol.

I am running Prepar3d 4.4, Global/OLC EU/FTX Eng with ASP4 and PTA

As you guys can see I had fun. With the AI packs I can happily set up a static camera and just watch like a kid at an airshow. I saw lots of F-35 action, and lots of Tonka action and even some visits from some Ospreys from nearby Mildenhall. Even a few aborted landings.

The 35's come in for a landing at around 80 knots whereas the Tonkas come in at around 120 so in a mixed pattern you get a few go arounds. Great to watch.

Hi Jack

Were you based over here?

Varks would have meant either F-111Fs at the 48th at Lakenheath(Their still here but with F-15E's), or EF-111's or F-111E's at Upper Heyford.

I know that part of the country well.

Yes sir, from 1982-1985.  RAF Upper Heyford.  I'm in Atlanta now and down in Macon they have aircraft 055, they very plane I used to work on, they restored it.  I was so surprised and happy to see it.

Been to our sister base Lakenheath when I was there too.  But now all the F-111's are in the desert, Heyford as seen from a satellite is covered with tens of thousands of cars on the runway, and I've seen a website that someone created.  They have tons of photos of them walking through Heyford, it's a mess.  What a pity.

I also miss the Three Horseshoes pub in Lower Heyford.  I wish I could go back in time!

Yep and Woodbridge is now both a used by the Army Air Corp and Bentwaters is a film set and the Cold War Museum, if you saw the Fast and Furious movies with the AN-124 scene at the end, well that was at Bentwaters

Amazing how the world changed

Never saw those movies.

My brother was stationed at Bentwaters, I wonder if they're still seeing aliens there? :D
