A circuit around Invercargill

Recommended Posts

Beautiful set Jack, a very pleasant part of the world to fly.

Some GA flight suggestions :-

1.Head off 200° you will find Stewart Island. Makes a nice exploration flight.

2.Fly to the East along the coast and then up to Dunedin NZDN.

3.Head west along the coast  and turn north at the mountains to Manapouri NZMO.

4.Take off from NZQN at dawn, follow The Cascades and then onto Invercargill for breakfast, $100 bowl of cornflakes!:lol:

All flights I have done in this area and thoroughly enjoyed.

Well done Jack! :). I always like seeing the national flags flying as in your first shot.

Thanks Paul.  I thought the same thing, I love the flags and they wave in the breeze too.

Yes Jack,  very nice indeed.

I'm stuck here in Oz partly on holiday but mainly to see a spinal expert.  Could you bring back great memories with a flight around Mt Taranaki/Egmont.  Take off from New Plymouth head West then South coming home via Hawera airport, North/West to Stratford Airport then back to New Plymouth, burn up the city and land.

Could you do that for this ol' fella, please.

Regards,

Jim.  ( have to check and find out how I have suddenly come up with AllBlack35, Newbie, should be ZL2BMH JimNZ)

I can try Jim but I may get lost seeing as I don't know NZ too well.  I wonder if Martyn could help, hey Martyn, @VH-KDK

Gosh Jim, I hope you get well soon, I'm very sorry to hear of your spine troubles, you will be in my prayers tomorrow when I hike in the forest!  I hope I can say prayers can I?  I mean in this upside down PC world I don't want to offend anyone.

And thanks Martyn!

Jack - Qantas and Australia are 1200mls away!  It should be this instead -  Avsim library   mjc-q400-anzx.zip    Air New Zealand Dash 8 300's in this livery fly in and out of Invercargill every day.  I think Inv to Christchurch and Inv to Wellington.  I like your shots though.

Cheers

Oops, Bruce, sorry mate.  My Dash 8 has huge tanks though!  I'll look for that livery, thanks!

It's a very good repaint of the current Air New Zealand aircraft fleet livery.  I should give the repainter, Will Gaisford, due credit.

Thanks Bruce, I just now got it, and I will install it very soon as I need to unwind now.  But thank you for the link, much appreciated!  ;)

Currently at Hawera waiting for the light to change to get a different perspective on the way back and so I can see better to beat up New Plymouth.^_^

Then I will rush down to the chemists and get the pictures developed and posted on here.

Geez, I hope I remembered to take the lens cap off.:o

  Martyn, I used to have a real nice Canon AE-1 and loved it but good grief was it a money pit. When I was Europe almost all my money went to film and developing.  Mate you make me feel old, but those were the days!  I loved real lenses, and film and all the accouterments.  At least I didn't have a Brownie box camera.

I had a Minlota with an array of lenses and how I used to get seriously narked when the photos came back and one you wanted was a bit blurred.

No problems like that today.

OK, I am just about to edit and post my flight so far as there are fears of power outages today with the demand due to the heat and the lack of supply.

It is so great to pay through the nose for power and then not have a guaranteed supply.

That is what you get for living in a third world Banana Republic!:lol::lol:
