FTX Scotland Service Pack 4

Recommended Posts

Hi Folks,

After a major update of FTX ENG last year, it's now time for FTX SCO to have the same.
The coming service pack will provide over 60 new different POIs all over the territory.
It also enhances some Scottish Islands with a reworked landclass and a geopositionning of buildings.

Guess which could be the places where the capture are made (both FSX/P3D):

The SP is now in beta and will be available next month. Stay tunned.

PS: For whose are wondering if the strange grey issue over Loch Ness is fixed for P3D (v3.4), the answer is yes but nothing was done our side :)

Some great attractions coming up, for us to discover (best in summer...).

Will the standing stones of Callanish also be included this time?

Have you included the Queensferry crossing?

Hi,

These features are already provided by Scotflight as freeware for FTX SCO. I was focused on new items

I know and i tried to install that, but it did not work for me. Maybe some library mismatch or whatever.

PS: You know me, for sure I have RL shots to compare...

Great news, thanks Richard. Is it possible that the issue of blotchy lights across the mountains could be fixed too? Please see this topic for reference:

Cheers

Stu

Hi Stu,
Unless the culprit is shorlty identified, I'm afraid the sp will not be able to carry the fix.

Looks good.

Any update to the Barra beach airport and runways?

Hi,
I don't see any trouble and nothing was previously reported by users so no change.

Ah well never mind. The list of changes looks excellent and will improve Scotland no end I think.

Richard that looks great.  One question.  Will any of the new stuff conflict with Scotflight for Orbx?

Hi,
I don't know. Any third party addon must be declared with high priority and have its own exclusion squares to prevent conflict

Hi Richard,

Any ideas re timing for release?

(a stupid question I know)

But I would like to add Scotland to Wales and England.

And I would like to experience the latest and best when I purchase it :D

Cheers

Hi Paul,

I guess you can expect it for next month as the first round of beta has ended and a second one is coming to validate the fixes.

Scotland is certainly the wildest nation of UK with full wonders of nature and history. Don't hesitate to invest into this region. The coming update is pure single malt ;)

Hi Richard,

Just downloaded and tried out the new update and I can't believe it but you've managed to fix it! I went to a couple of the old trouble spots and sure enough there are no light blotches all over the mountains. Thanks so much, this is a great surprise! With all the other fixes and new POIs I'm heading back to Scotland for some sight-seeing!

Thanks a lot Richard to you and all your team.

Stu.

My pleasure. I was too short to make the announcement before the release :)

  • 1 month later...

Hi Richard,

I am wondering if something happened to Oban in my Scotland P3D v4. I think I used to see  McCaig's Tower building in Oban town, but this is not seen now. Has this not been included at some point?

Thanks for the great update with all the castles, they look splendid!

Hi,

I presume you are reffering to this free addon as Oban is not reworked into SP4:
