The Yukon in the Ford Trimotor

Our flight plan for today is from Whitehorse to Juneau

It’s 8:00 am and some minus 7 degrees Celsius. We don’t have snow yet in Whitehorse, but we’ll expect plenty on route. With a lot of sputtering, coughing and smoke belching the three engines slowly coax to life. This is none of this instant-on nanny computer controlled stuff and the pilot knows exactly, when it’s time for his priced baby to be finally up and running

Slowly, yet gracefully the Ford takes to the skies

Yes, we might be slow and old, but we are hard working and dependable

Occasionally we are forced to open the windows despite the freezing temps to check on the engine gauges

Flying in such majestic surroundings can be quite a humbling experience

But you also know, if something happens out here, you are on your own

Very Wow indeed! Lovely shots and a fine looking 'plane. Mind you, I look at that bird and think "and people worry about going up in the Gee Bee . . ." - the wing engines look like they're barely attached to the rest of the 'plane.
