rick66 Posted August 25, 2016 Share Posted August 25, 2016 Well it`s a late start on day 8 due to rain up North which is forecast for much of the flight down to YBBN Brisbane as a Deep Low moved into the Tasman, and ASN played it`s cards true, not much to see, a quick stop at Hamilton Island and onwards to Longreach then Roma and into Brisbane by 4 pm. Preflight at Mareeba then were off down the Whitsundays. Hinchinbrook off in the Distance Final for Hamilton Island and gusty winds as i approach the Low...! Quick change of Aircraft to climb above the WX as i depart for Longreach. Landing at Longreach, it was cloudy for the whole 250nm journey and cleared about 25 DME out.... And i`m here at the Birth Place of Qantas. Quick Change of Aircraft and were off to YBBN. So nothing could be more appropriate than leaving Longreach in a Qantas Retro livery for the last Leg for today via Roma, Chinchilla, then Brisbane... FAF for the ILS Rwy 19 at YBBN over Moreton Bay. Well that was kinda dull for scenery this leg but it`s done with for today... Day 9 see`s me off down the NSW coast via Coffs Harbour to Sydney and hopefully i`m in the Lakes Region tomorrow night ready for the Apple Isle.. Cheers.
