bvdboomen
Installation went very well and quickly after that I took the DC-3 up in the air to test if the LC is installed and active. It was, so next I planned a flight from Eagle County to Grand Canyon National Park. It would be a 2+ hour flight but I wasn't bored at all! Great sightings with a landscape varying regularly. 1. The area in West Virginia was my test bed. Some elevation problems with the factories but that could be due to Freemesh. 2. It's all coming to life now! 3. The flight from Eagle County to Grand Canyon. What a trip! 4. Many different terrain along the way. 5. Changed the time during the flight to enjoy the terrain mesh. 6. Gorgeous view! 7. And it even gets better with the sun setting. 8. On the other hand... Don't want to get lost here! 9. But wait! Is that the Grand Canyon in sight? 10. And than suddenly! 11. The oZx scenery blends wel with Open LC NA. 12. Approaching Grand Canyon National Park. The end of quiet an immersive flight. Cheers, Ben.
Stillwater
Hi Ben, I did the same flight yesterday while still downloading OpenLC. And it doesn´t look much different here. Well, it is mostly mountains, forest, and a majority of desert, so maybe not a showcase area for landclass? Who cares, the main thing is that you have fun flying (and show us part of the pleasure)! bvdboomen
Thanks guys! 1 hour ago, Stillwater said: And it doesn´t look much different here I haven't flown here too much. While I indeed notice some "standaard" FTX Global textures, I also got the feeling that many textures are replaced by Open LC NA. But then again, Global is indeed the main layer and LC only tells FS where to put what, supported by additional textures, but it's done in a beautiful way. The next image show more of what Open LC NA does: Cheers, Ben.
Stillwater
@bvdboomen : ,,,and this last one is indeed fascinating, shows what Orbx is building for us. I look forward to it (day 2 of the downloads running, 2 parts completed...)

It looks very dramatic and nice. I have to consider mesh but it uses a huge amount of space. Where can I get this Freemesh and can it be used in P3D 3.2? Thanks. Jack BTW, your screenshots are absolutely amazing.

bvdboomen
@Jack I believe I took off from Morgantown Municipal Airport (KMGW) and Dawson Aaf (3G5). Great places to fly If FreeMesh isn't active in this area (due to 38m already present) then the elevations of the plants need to be looked at by the developers I think. Guys, thank you for the nice comments. Regards, Ben.
