  1. you undercut yourself mate - although I am a man who works many colours - I just love this study - and as I have said before - you have mastered the control of Hair - aka the kittens - although - this kitten looks like she stems from Melbourne
  2. Don -- too right - all we have to do is remember the paint is always wet in Digital Art and ART is what it is - in the eyes of the beholder - not necessarily in the eyes of the artist. Remember - Van Gogh only sold one painting in his lifetime
  3. thankyou Iain - your appreciation is welcomed - and making use of the subject of Digital Art - may I offer one of my works as an Easter Greeting to you all --- to show that Easter is not all about chocolate and Easter Bunnies (Iain - should you consider this not to be in keeping with forum rules - please remove)
  4. Don - I don't profess to be a Jeremy Sutton - but honestly - it takes little time with the right software - which you possess - to be a Renoir or a Van Gogh -
  5. wow -!! - I didn't really mean to start a discussion on digital Photography - a subject very close to my heart. - What Renault said about .jpgs is a point I used to pound into my students about lossy file systems - and honestly - I had to look up what "postimage" was? - I haven't used an offline storage unit for my work for 20 years and that was Flikr where members could access my labours. All my storage is on a multitude of portable hard drives in .BMPs and my screen shots as .jpgs - and which any that I am particularly pleased with - go into storage converted to .BMP. Returning to my original screenshot query ? - I use the very convenient "Snip and Sketch" tool in W10 - saving the work in .jpg - for the following reason. Sometime ago - my old mate Aussie flyer - complained that the screenshots he was trying to upload was because his forum allocation of storage space was full - his problem as I saw it was, he was saving his work in .png a lossless file system - which in screen sizes would produce a file size some 8 times larger - similar to .BMP So the bottom line is that my contributions to "Screenshots": are in .jpg - and the process that the forum uses to display them - must further reduce the .jpg - by a further 4 times Maybe I will try to take the shots in .jpg - convert to .bmp - increase the sharpness etc - save in .jpg - and if my theory is correct - when I send it through to the forum - the process might give me what I took in the first place ----- all of course if i have the patience in my dotage
  6. all that my missus could say when I told her about the pups and showed her the pics - Where's the calculator - so we can work out what dosh he will end up with"
  7. with a large family like the one you just got - you can't afford MS Marketplace
  8. I haven't bothered to present much in the way of contributions to the Community screenshots lately because they never seem to come out the way I see them in my computer. To day - I saw this comment on the top of a contribution on another subject --- from NiCK - viz;-- ""As ever, click on the images to see the actual version and not the blurred mess that the forum makes." - (actual size - and I dont think he meant it as a joke) I wonder @Nick if you would care to comment - and @Iain Emms as well ??
  9. For some time now I have been musing about how the quality of certain digital parts of the Sim have improved beyond simulation - to reality especially airports . Not that I am one for necessarily using one because it looks good - if it has a runway - that will suffice for me - but the digital artist in me really appreciates - the work done by developers to increase - in pixels - what photos normally show I got knocked back on one video I suggested because it wasn't an Orbx airport product - but I'll try my point again - with the following. One bloke I have followed from his first efforts at the airports is a Liverpudlian bloke from back in the UK - who was away for a while but has returned. with - in my opinion - 2 very good videos of a couple of the latest Orbx offerings https://youtu.be/7c1Z7zbzV20
  10. Sometimes I wonder why you blokes think that Orbx - because Australia was its original target - should - in the mix of a huge WW market now to MSFS over the last 2 years - should supply our needs Down Under for our airports They will continue to do the best business that brings them the dosh - and good on 'em! Meanwhile - I am sure that Orbx would not object here - to the knowledge that on - Australia Scenery » Microsoft Flight Simulator » Flightsim.to all those who are desperate for an Aussie drome - outside the big cities - would have a choice of 440 or so very good representations of what one needs

I note that soon we will have more incentive to fly around the Pacific Ocean communities - and I look forward to really use my Longtitude World Update 13 Heads to Oceania, Hawaii and Antarctica - FSElite now all I want is for them to do an Australian update 2 - with the emphasis on the UPDATE to 2022 at least in line with the latest Bing
  14. Now be honest - you non Aussies - no Googling ------ what is a Wombat?? however _ I can add this to the meaningless topic --- a WOMBAT - EATS - ROOTS - AND LEAVES think about it

  20. just for curiosity - since I built a new PC 4 months ago and installed W10 Home - just checked and VBS not installed - and there have been around 4 updates in that time - last one 2 weeks ago I get with 1080 - average 50 fps - ultra - i7 - 3060 - 48 ram
  21. quotes from article ""Microsoft is now apparently turning on VBS post-updates, at least in some cases (and this could be true for Windows 10 systems as well as Windows 11)"". --- the only time I could see W10 mentioned ""There were some games that fared worse, as you might imagine. Tom’s Hardware highlights - Microsoft Flight Simulator - which experienced average frame rate drops of around 10%. Far Cry 6 and Control also exhibited 10% or so drops (at 1080p resolution with certain graphics settings, anyway). Other games were much less affected, or saw no difference at all in some cases. It was this Para that prompted my reason for placing the article --- read it as you wish
  22. Windows 11 could be stealth-nerfing graphics cards – even the RTX 4090 (msn.com)
  23. this is dedication to our hobby - Burwell man builds Spitfire simulator in his shed - BBC News
  24. during the discussions on digital Painting - Angelo - a member of the Orbx team - said he used a software named PROCREATION I hadn't heard of the software before - but with 5 kids - and 10 grandchildren - and so far - 9 great Grandchildren - and dozens of paintings I suppose that the talent I had demonstrated best - was PROCREATION - using Digital Hardware - (PC and Brushes - that is !)
