  1. Yesterday - my 63-year-old son came and trimmed the trees in my back garden - cleaned up the leaves etc - and brought his cigarettes with him
  2. Although Orbx lost my original details going back to the start of Orbx - I have to admit - that since I suppose the last few years since all was renewed- I never knew that such a thing existed - and this thread made me go looking for it Thanks - Wain and Gerold - for pointing the way - that shows that one is never too old to learn something new. soooh - next time Orbx takes a break - I will have around 4 years to catch up on my unread comments
  3. Qantas flight lands safely after mayday call over Pacific Ocean | Watch (msn.com)
  4. whilst you had a 24-hour rest - I had severe withdrawal symptoms
  5. Probably not quite what Ken had in mind - but my early flight simming aircraft were made from folded Paper - and bore a remarkable resemblance to the CONCORD Also - for my 7th birthday - I was given a model glider that was cut from a sheet of balsa - and clumsy me - cut a large gash in my palm with a razor blade. - it is still vivid in my memory--------- because I see the scar every day
  6. Thinking back to the start of MSFS - 2 1/2 yrs ago --- No one was spruking for the coming of the brand-new X box series X and the shear thoughts of 4K HDR simming - than yours truly. I think Nick was so fed up with my diatribes that he even followed my suggestion that we had a sub-folder for the X Box simming discussions. One of the main reasons I advocated the X Box - was that in Aussie terms - one could get this massive increase in technology for a meager $750 - whereas to purchase a computer to do the same ran into something like $4000 - the RTX series 30 accounted for $2000 of that Then Covid struck - and up came a shortage of something called Chips - and a subsequent shortage of X box series X - but this didnt stop the advent of the release of the sim for X Box - which because I couldn't get my hands on one - I got more and more frustrated - eventually settling for the X Box baby brother - the series S which was 2 K no HDR - a waste of money as it turned out - so back to the drawing board and the good lady wife agreed to reduce all my disappointments 4 months ago and gave me permission to upgrade my PC somewhat - and because the RTX 30 series had fallen to below a grand - I upgraded to a standard that gains me all sliders to the right ie ULTRA @ 60fps I have watched - carefully the progress of the sim in X Box - and I am very disappointed that the sim does not deliver the same excitement in the users that the PC does - it seems to be a history of the lack of availability of all the goodies that the PC has access to - The Community File being the biggest loss - and the access to 3rd party stuff - including the goodies in F.to. The recent birthday give aways - made some recompense - but the bugbear of top-class flight choices remains. I have no doubt that sooner - or later - the Xbox will be all that I originally thought way back then. When the box was announced - I put my name on a waiting list - in most of the local gamer suppliers - to be informed when one was available - and deathly silence abounded until this month - and I now get offered at least one every day - an offer that I might take up - (I am still on HD no HDR) - when MS brings the box up to most of choices possible in the PC at the moment
  7. Hopefully - this old bloke will still be around to wish Y'all a HNY in December - but just in case - "Happy New Year for 2024 --- fellow Simmers"

  9. Anthony - I doubt that Orbx will do another YBCG - unless they want to port their version of the P3D cityscape and to replace the 9 year old Bing that is still used in the sim there is a very good payware version - that is up to date on the SimMarketplace
