  1. Pretty sure that in my PlanG app (free) you can set up the map to just show VORs and each one can be clicked on for the details, it would just be a matter of spending the time to create a list. You can also have PlanG running during your flight and refer to it in real time for details.

  2. I always resize screenshots down to 2000 pixels wide or max 3000 for a panorama shot, and set the jpg quality to a Max of 90%, that's all you need to show off even the best shot.

Plenty of free resize programs out there if you don't have a graphics program.

  3. With bout 25% of the possible products installed my OC takes about a minute to display content.

If it is taking forever it might be a problem with your ISP or somewhere up the line throttling the download for the app, thinking it's a torrent or P2P site.

Almost all problems with download speeds from the Orbx servers have been found to be network issues totally outside the control of Orbx.  But it's probably worth a ticket just to check.

It would be great if they would release other A2A planes sometime soon. Does anyone know why the wouldn't?

That's how long it took them to code the Comanche for MSFS. Future releases will no doubt be a shorter development time but each one probably takes months of work.

Orbx's Alaska Mesh contains a simple version of Juneau.  As a result, the Orbx Direct PAJN product page says the following:

If using Orbx's Alaska Mesh, please ensure this version of PAJN has higher priority in scenery order.

    Did you do that?

That would be for P3D wouldn't it? MSFS doesn't have a scenery order.

Another thing that could be looked at is third party scenery that might contain elements of PAJN. There are many posts in the forums on how to empty the community folder to check.

    Are we there yet?

    I do believe it's now August.🫠😁

Well I am well and truly there, wherever there is.  Here there and everywhere.  Oh wait, that was Paul McCartney.  I'll bet he's there, wherever there is.  He might have been there since last August, who knows?  I'll be visiting London next month, so does that mean I'll be the same there that Paul, and perhaps yourself, is at?

  7. The other day I bought some garden items from my local Mitre 10. Happened to be in Bunnings a couple of days later and sure enough, I could have saved about 30% if I had bought from Bunnings. But what I had bought was fair products at a fair price. I certainly didn't think I could ask Mitre 10 to refund the difference.

    Hi Smudger,

    thanks for your swift reply.

Nevertheless, even with the vector entry unchecked I will still see the improvements of it?

    Andreas

Edit: I just see that the three entries are shaded, so I cannot change them...

I guess if you wanted to test, you could grab those three files and move them to another folder as a temporary change, start P3D and OK the missing files warnings and see if it makes much difference.  If it does and you want to have the option to untick them, then you would need to change them from the library location to the P3D scenery location.

I think that would work anyway.

I was hesitant for some time, but made quite good friends now with the H145 under VR and after getting a wonderful Virpil Collective. However, like @ikbenik writes, landing on a small area is still a challenge.

    Kind regards, Michael

A good way to practise is to do a 'carrier approach'. Set up a descent profile that approaches the pad at a flattish angle, similar to a runway approach, and reduce speed by raising the nose and reducing the 'power' and flying into the pad without trying to actually hover before settling down. As you get more approaches you can balance the approach speed more precisely to land at just a few knots, then at zero knots. Just like the one foot rule in golf, I allow a couple of metres of slide after touchdown as a successful landing. Better that than copping a ground effect rise and the dreaded backwards momentum.

  10. I don't see this, must be a glitch.  Two options:

    1.  Verify files, this should load the latest files.

    2. Uninstall and reinstall the product.

If neither work then for some reason it's probably not updating the version number, might be a permissions issue.  My version_miltech-mv22b-osprey.txt text file shows 1.2.2

  11. Looks like a problem with graphics not loading on your pc. I doubt it's a problem with the scenery.

It might be memory issues, in which case, restarting the pc and only loading MSFS will ensure that you have maximum resources available to the sim.

  12. Long time since I played with P3D but my memory is telling me that when I installed stuff into a library, the scenery order in the P3D Scenery Library didn't seem to matter, the library sceneries seemed to work regardless.

Here's a screenshot of part of my P3DV5 library and as you can see the Library scenery entries are scattered throughout the list.

If you are going to use the Library for the Orbx products I'd recommend putting them all into the Library location, that way the only things in your P3D scenery folder will be the default sceneries plus any other products that install to there.

Thanks John. That clarifies that Orbx has no intention of addressing any issues with the previous product NZ Mesh and that the best course of action is to simply delete it as it holds no value to the sim.

    Regards, Paul

True, unless of course someone elects to forgo the AU/NZ update, in which case they may find some benefit in retaining the mesh package. Unlikely scenario but you never know. 🤔

Looked up this topic as I've enjoyed the NZ Mesh since it was released. With the release of the NZ Scenery from ASOBO, which I believe Orbx had a hand in, if the NZ Mesh is also enabled you get rifts in the scenery that follow you as you fly. I have had the scenery disabled for several months now and just wondered what Orbx plans to do with the mesh. Did the recent update for NZ render the NZ Mesh addon no longer necessary. I understand certain areas were treated with greater detail but the mesh covered the whole country. It would be ashame to loose this great addon.

    Regards, Paul

Anywhere I have flown in NZ recently the mesh has been detailed and accurate.  I don't recall any places where the mesh add-on provided greater detail than is available straight out of the box now.  So, unless there are specific examples of poorer quality mesh I would say the original add-on is redundant.
