My guess is that you might be flying somewhere in the world where Vector puts a heavy load on your system. Try uninstalling Vector and see what happens.
If not, the maybe re-installing FSX created a conflict somewhere in your computer.
You might need to uninstall FSX using the control panel snd then delete the entire FSX folder. After that there should be no flight simulator or related files on your computer.
Then re-install FSX without add-ons and confirm that you can get adequate performance. If so, add your Orbx stuff one by one confirming that performance remains adequate.

I don't know how you would have been able to run FSX on that system.
When I had FSX I had an i7-4790K with a separate video card and I was often seeing frame rates drop into the teens. Your CPU is benchmarked at half the performance of mine and it's also being asked to process the graphics.
Unfortunately all the indications are that your computer is not suitable for FSX except perhaps with all the sliders and options set to minimum.

I think it'll be an uphill battle to get Orbx to adopt a sales strategy that goes against the principles of a commercial vendor, but as Nick says the suggestion will be considered.

From the developers point of view, who after all are the ones who put in the long tedious hours to develop the sceneries, a mixing of full price and sales items will always be advantageous.

My 2c worth... imagine if you asked your local supermarket to put all the specials in one aisle so you didn't need to walk past the normal priced produce to find things on special.
What do you think the reaction would be?

I can report full download speed from Orbx Central through my ISP Aussie Broadband, including complete scenery packages, at 5+ MB/sec, right through the Christmas period and last night.

I'm not aware of any Canberra city add on for MSFS. Canberra Airport from Impulse Simulations yes, but as far as I know there's no city scenery for Canberra.

Think I'll give it a miss. I can't think of anything that could improve the frame rates in VR, which I have running quite well, and I get 40 fps or more in 2D, and that's all I need. If one day I become a pigeon and can see the difference between 40 and 80 fps without the frame counter, I will return to the forums to see if it's worth putting in the effort.
Since around the days of FS98 I have seen magical tweaks and programs come and go and I can't think of a single one that didn't produce at least some form of unintended problem, whether it was stuttering, screen tearing or something else. Time after time, the only stable option has been to use the sim as designed by the developer in conjunction with the CPU and GPU manufacturers.

If you downloaded MSFS from the Windows Store it'll be located in the folder XboxGames on the drive you installed it on.
Well, it's not. Maybe my install was an earlier version.

I was thinking of suggesting that, but I don't want the feedback if it doesn't go well. 😁
As far as I am aware, reinstalling just the game does not delete any of the content.
If you are asked if you want to do that, the answer must be no.
It'll be to a different SSD so some work might be involved, but all the MSFS user settings remain the same yes.
I'm wondering if this frame rate generation thing is all it is being touted as. It might be just a clever routine that simply duplicates existing generated frames and doesn't add any actual content. It would seem a bit too much of a miracle to me to be able to overturn the hurdles that have faced tweakers and developers since the birth of FS.
I think I'll wait for some evidence of how this miraculous increase in performance is actually engineered before I spend too much time trying to install it.

No I don't have the second folder. Might be time to delete my current MSFS install and install again from the Game Store?

I used the GPU-Z program to find the correct location. I did however forget to enable the "Hardware accelerated GPU scheduling" in Windows and saw no improvement. Once I rewatch the particular YouTube tutorial I had originally watched I realised my error. Once enabled, bingo!
I don't see any option in GPU-Z to find a program location!
Also when I right click on the MSFS entry in Task Manager and select show file location it doesn't open anything, the command does nothing.
And I know I've got the right location because when I click on FlightSimulator.exe in that location I found, MSFS starts.
Very frustrating

Doesn't work for me, I try to copy the files to the folder where the FlightSimulator.exe is and it won't allow me. the message is that I don't have any room in the folder, which I'd say is their way of saying access to put anything in the folder is denied.

Little Navmap and PlanG both have all you need to create flight plans, but you might need to do some manual calculating. It will display all low and high level tracks and waypoints. You can create any waypoints you need. So, you can create a plan with all necessary points to set for top of climb and descent profile etc. This is ideal for GA flights.
But if you are flying passenger planes, the fms database should be all you need to set your flight plan with departure and arrival SIDs and STARs as well as waypoints and altitudes all worked out in the FMS and sent to the autopilot.

Aaah ok I just use the vanilla installation that loaded with the sim from the beginning. I'm guessing most users would too.
Either solution is practical, but yours more so.

Sometimes when I download a package for the Community Folder there's an error message that comes up when I try to copy to the Community folder. It's because the file names of some of the files, when combined with the path to the Community folder, exceed the allowable limit in Windows.
I've found that simply extracting the folder to the desktop and then moving it in to the Community folder fixes the problem.
Keen to hear if this works for others, if so please post tin the comments.

The issue, as mentioned above, is that I do have bought the Olbia scenery in the Marketplace (is one of the view I bought there at the very beginning)...
I don't know about that sorry, Nick can probably help when he comes online later.

I think the discount is applied when you purchase the V2 and go to checkout. If it isn't applied don't proceed with the transaction.

You can delete the entire P3D4 folder. Also there will be P3DV4 folders under Lockheed Martin in your Appdata Roaming and maybe Local folders, as well as a folder in the Cdrive whose name escapes me at the moment(it's called ProgramData.
P3DV4 should no longer appear in your Orbx Central, if it does appear then you might need to Google how to remove the Registry entries.
-
You need to have EGLC V2: https://orbxdirect.com/product/eglc-v2-msfs
I'm pretty sure there's a discount if you already own V1.

For everything you did around here Jon , they demote you ....... go figure . ☹️😒

I think you'll find it's an automatic process, based on the coding for the bulletin board.
So it's not actually a demotion, just a change in status, due I think to activity.

John, I do not think, it has anything to fo with my provider, because I get pretty good download speeds with all providers, except Orbx, which starts reasonable for a few seconds, but then slows down to around 20 kb/second. For me it has always been like this as far as I can think back, while with all other downlods it is usually the other way round starting slowly for a few seconds but then speeding up.
If it is not Orbx' fault, can it be the connection between Australia and Europe (assuming Orbx' servers are located in Australia)? Orbx ist the only Australian company I do online purchases from.
Orbx's servers were with a massive provider on the eastern seabord of the US the last time I heard, and I assume they still are.
I don't have any answers as to why other downloads are fine but Orbx is throttled, but my experience, and that of others, is that some providers don't seem to be able to get Orbx downloads at full speed, others, like my Aussie Broadband, seem to be able to deliver.
That's why I say you need to investigate your provider and their network arrangements.

I've just experienced this frustrating problem too. In the UK. I downloaded the C172 sound set (20Mb) and it took 15 minutes, with speeds of 10-30 kilobytes per second. It's just unusable for anything larger. This has literally forced me to buy the last few products from other retailers. Minutes before buying the BAW 172 soundset, I was downloading from MSFS Marketplace at 170-280 MBPS !
I was having this same problem 3-4 months ago and it caused me to not buy from Orbx Central for a few months - today was the 'test day' to see how it would go.This has got to be impacting your revenue stream.
I reiterate, it's likely to be something associated with your provider.
When I had the problem I took my computer to my sister's house for rigorous testing, and her provider delivered consistent full speed downloads. When I took my computer back home, same problem, Orbx downloads started full speed but dropped to a crawl after a short time. And yet the speed tests across Australia were all consistently full speed.
However, I was given a speed test that actually measured international speeds through my provider:
http://www.myspeedmeter.net. That test confirmed that data coming from international servers was being throttled by my ISP or further up their network. Since I moved to my current provider, international data comes through as fast as Australian data.
I'm not sure what you think Orbx can do about ISPs that can't deliver their content at full speed?

I'm in the UK with Virgin Media (certainly not budget). Doesn't happen with any other website/app when downloading (such as Steam or iniManager). Just seems to be Orbx.
It's possible that many ISPs and their providers buried deeper in the network seem to assume Orbx is a P2P or Torrent site given the large data volumes. That would be why some faceless manager decides to throttle the downloads, or... alternatively, a server somewhere in the network has a corrupted file and the data is throttled back to process it and then it stays that speed until reset. I'm not privy to the actual goings-on but it has been well and truly established over many years now that it's outside Orbx's control.

No-one talking aboutFSR3 Frame generation for all RTX cards? MSFS
in General Discussion

Thanks Nick
While we are on this topic something that I thought about is worth noting., the mod interpolates frames before and after and then inserts another frame in between and it requires a hell of a lot of processing power to do that and if the frames are relatively steady there's no real load on the system but as soon as you start panning or moving around so that it has extra work to do this is when you get the tearing in the breakups and since I look around a lot I doubt that it's going to be good for me
