image.png.7a4840faa0228438e1f23439109dd01a.pngHaving the same problem right now. Definitely not my internet as I'm getting 500+Mbps. Been the same the last few days. First two thirds are normal speeds then slows to a crawl.

I had this problem all the time when I was with a budget ISP (Spintel).  I swapped to a better ISP (Aussie Broadband) and since then I have had no problems.

With Spintel the download would start at 5MB/s and then slow to similar figures to what you are getting.

That would be something I would be investigating because it's outside Orbx's control.

  2. Time and time again the slow connection posts pop up. If you read the old support forums you'll see time and time again the explanation that it's the ISPs and other network aspects that are causing the problem, which generally resets within 24 - 48 hours. Nothing Orbx can do about it.

    Hi Nick

Is there going to be a London landmarks update in this package?

Or is it going to be excluded as London exists as an apart package?

I asked because I'd like to know if there are more buildings added, if some buildings morphing textures are fixed and if they have managed to remove some photogrammetry issues off the scene...

    Thanks

    Carlos

I don't think London is being included, however, if you have any specific issues with any of the buildings in London, let us know what you are seeing and we can test the product and if there are any problems that aren't MSFS related (not all LOD problems are fixable especially when photogrammetry is involved) I'm sure the team will be open to having a look at a fix sometime when resources are available.

Yap thats perfectly fine. I fly a lot of planes where things can break... but they are working if I reset them. The PAC is not advertised as a plane where some things won't work straight away, thats the difference. Or even can break with the wear and tear in mind. And after quite some months one would expect the problems to be solved easily if only wanted.  The thing is it doesn't shine on any other part so much that you could forget about the minor issues. You have the beta team banner so you should know the difference. 🤷‍♀️

Another 2c from a slightly other direction ;)

Agreed, and you're right to keep pushing for legitimate problems to be addressed. Don't know the history of the autopilot issue but if it relates to an autopilot that isn't standard with the released version, then I can see it would be a low priority.

Either way my input was to suggest that there are ways to enjoy a product that for one reason or other has non-critical errors. There are many possible reasons why a collective of quasi-independent developers like Orbx might be experiencing problems with updating this aircraft. A support ticket is the best way to keep the issue alive, so if you haven't raised one, then please do so so it's in the system.

  5. You can test your own setup by renaming the current community folder to something like XCommunity, creating a new Community folder, and moving EDDT into it. If MSFS runs normally then it is likely to be a conflict with another add-on.

  6. I fly in it regularly. Autopilot not a problem for me, I just fly it manually as most real world pilots do, given that it's mostly used for low and slow flying.

Other problems? You do know that many aircraft, particularly workhorses, often have instruments that aren't working, but if they are not necessary for the flight the plane is still allowed to fly? That's the way I approach a plane that isn't perfect, I treat it as a more realistic simulation.

    That's my 2c worth anyway.

  7. Almost guaranteed there would be all sorts of temp files and the like sitting on your c drive.

There's a program called tree size free that let's you quickly get a visual representation of all the folder and subfolder sizes.

There are also many programs that can detect unused files and delete them, I used to use one called ccleaner. They allow you to choose categories and files to delete.

When space was a problem for me I used to get a lot of room by just locating the temp files for internet Explorer, that folder was usually GBs in size.

  8. Since it sits in the appdata location of your Users folder I'd say it needs to be there for all sorts of reasons.

I guess you could research whether you can use some sort of linking program to move it somewhere else and point to it, but my gut feeling is that would cause more problems even if you could do it.

Unfortunately some things have to be in the Users folder and that sits in the C Drive and I think you'll have to live with it.

  9. It might be VAS exhaustion. There were many topics that discussed it and how to fix it. Try searching the support forums. I remember there was a line in the P3D cfg file that had to be changed to a much higher figure to stop the sim dumping the airport textures when you looked away.

  10. My initial reaction to this idea is that under the current sdk for MSFS it's not possible. An airport has to be installed for it to be accessed and once installed I don't know of any way that Orbx could uninstall it remotely.

For the purposes of a rtw flight the default airports are surprisingly good, most blend in as they should and most have at least some buildings to give a semblance of reality, unlike the old fsx and p3d airports that were often just a flat bit of tarmac whacked down on to the scenery.

  11. If you go into the sim you can start a flight at any of the three airports using the IDxx code provided.

Or, using a flight planner, you can start at Vines using the name or its official ICAO code and then consult the map on the boulder at the strip.

Also, Vines is searchable on Googe Earth I believe.

The instructions have been made deliberately vague as an added realism factor!

  12. Another point that might be relevant, Orbx is mostly still based on the original business model of a collection of independent developers who are mostly responsible for choosing and developing products that they are interested in, using the resources of Orbx shared resources and knowledge base. There are some products that are commissioned but I believe this is still the exception rather than the norm.

As a result, development is unlike other companies, and over many years, the roadmap model has caused more trouble than it's worth, despite the best intentions.

Shouldn't have too, point of the feature is take a screenshot and upload it midflight so it appears on the map for others to see (and like), not fanny about with resizing tools.

Then maybe the solution is to download a free screenshot program that saves to a smaller size automatically. Plenty of options out there.
