  1. Hello, it is now, but you need to use Orbx Central.
  2. Good news, they seem to work remarkably well.
  3. Hello, for an MSFS user, there are very few user guides but as an FSX user, there are none missing. Unfortunately, Orbx Central does not discriminate between the two and so one will see that error message.
  4. Hello, if there is no option on the Orbx Central product page, then the product is in an Orbx Central Library already. If the product is installed into the simulator, then there is an option to "Migrate to Library" and the above method can then be applied to P3D v6.
  5. Hello, if you did, is there not an option to "Migrate to Library"?
  6. Hello, I have found out that over the weekend, there was an outage. Apologies for that and it appears that it has been fixed.
  7. Hello Rodger, I can cook all kinds of things, but Mrs Cooper will not let me. She is a much better cook than I am and in all fairness, I am happy to leave it to her. In return, I am expected to clean up the unspeakable mess in the kitchen, once we have eaten. I am constantly amazed at just how many pots and pans are needed for a simple meal.
  8. Hello, I can't answer your first question but in answer to your second question, P3D does indeed have mesh and vector data. It could not work without it. Lockheed Martin greatly improved the vector data with P3D v5, so P3D v6 should be at least as good. Addon mesh is usually better than the default, especially outside the USA, but Orbx don't do addon mesh outside the regional products for P3D. Neither Orbx Global Base nor openLC products are vector or mesh, except where the default mesh is really poor, such as in some parts of South America and Africa, where through necessity, some mesh has been added to the openLC products. I would be very surprised if Global Base and open LC do not continue to be better than P3D default textures.
  9. Excellent. In my little village, the fibre only reaches a green box, then it is waxed string and baked bean tins to my house. Mind you, not so long ago it was 1 Mbps, so this is relatively superb.
  10. Hello, genteel though this exchange is, the topic served its purpose of promulgating craigeaglefire's flight simulator preferences at post one. Thanks to those who decided to contribute.
  11. Hello, I don't (yet) have P3D v6 but skeletal aircraft in the past have mostly been the result of missing licences and anti-piracy measures. It may well be that these can be made to work, unless the cause is the failure to display textures. In general and not directed at you, it is very early days to be making pronouncements of fact about something that has only been released for a few hours.
  12. Hello Rodger, this guide is about a village close to where I live. Walk: Deep Dale and Bishop Wilton, East Riding of Yorkshire | Countryfile.com It may not be dramatic but there are far worse places to be. In the opposite direction is this bridge, which is older than the USA and still carries all the traffic over the River Derwent Stamford Bridge (bridge) - Wikipedia
  13. Marcus Burkhard reports this: I enjoy the new ESSA scenery very much, but I wanted to report an error for the developer to fix. As you can see on the first screenshot there is one glide slope antenna oriented 180° the wrong way. And while it’s being rotated, why not move it to the correct place according to the aerial image. Following the shadow one can clearly see that the antenna is not on the correct spot. No big deal, but I thought if it needs to be rotated anyway, you might as well move it a the same time Btw. other GS antennae seem to be placed slightly offset to the localiser track, even though the ILS procedure does not have this offset. I’ve never been to ESSA but I’ve also never seen a GS antenna being oriented offset to the LOC track. Oh and while you prepare an update, would it be possible to plant some bushes in a specific area? I’ve been impressed with how careful the vegetation has been placed onto the aerial imagery, makes the airport look a lot more life-like without flat vegetation visible everywhere. However, there is two areas where there’s quite a few flat bushes visible, left and right of RWY 01R, see the other screenshot. If you could send the gardener to these spots, that would be fantastic. Thanks and all the best, Markus
  14. Hello, welcome to the forums. Please try the steps in this forum topic first: https://forum.orbxdirect.com/topic/189035-fix-for-blocks-andor-night-textures-in-orbx-global-base-or-open-lc-scenery/
  15. Hello John, I am guessing that it is added by installing GSX.
  16. Hello John, that is C:\Users\your user name\AppData\Roaming\virtuali
  17. Hello Rodger, for me, it is the MSFS scenery. Previously, starting with FS 2002, I have spent days, if not weeks, downloading photoscenery and now, it is all there, complete with autogen and scenery objects in one package. I am not really a pilot at all, in fact I find the whole process of flying quite mystifying and the minutiae of operating an aircraft, rather tedious. If I had ever gone into the aviation industry, I think that it would have been as an aircraft mechanic, I am fascinated by the machines themselves and in awe of some of them, such as the everlasting DC3 and the wonder of how something like a 747 or the An 225 could ever take to the skies, but I never harboured any ambition to actually drive one. I guess that it's a bug to which am immune but on the other hand, I have driven lorries (trucks) for the whole of my adult life. That was the ideal job for me, making a living doing something that I genuinely enjoy, to this day.
  18. Hello, as the subject of the topic appears to have moved on, you will only get the 20% senior discount if: There is no existing discount, such as for ownership of the same product in another simulator There is not already a larger discount, such as during a sale The product that you are buying is by Orbx, the senior discount is an Orbx initiative and does not apply to "Partner" products.
  19. Not wishing to derail Rodger's fine topic, you already have the "Senior Discount"
  20. Hello John, Wolfgang, it is not too hard to obtain the senior discount. A support ticket that includes proof of your age will do it every time. Here is the exact link I suspect that the main reason that "Central is not set automatically", is that it has no idea of your date of birth.
  21. Hello, if it does, I would think that you must be looking in the wrong place, as described above.
  22. Hello, please go to this link: Orbs - Orbx (orbxdirect.com) Then scroll down the page to here: and you will see this:
  23. Hello John, I think that view is not correct. There is no second bite at the cherry in this case, it is simply that the Xbox system is closed and locked. If the product is bought at the in-game Marketplace, there is only one bite. Third-party developers did not implement that system, Microsoft did and as far as I am aware, that closed system has been in place since the Xbox was invented. I don't think that it is within the ability of one third-party developer of one Xbox game to make Microsoft change their entire approach towards Xbox. I don't have any kind of game console but from someone I know who does, the usual approach is to install a complete game. The concept of then adding bits to an Xbox game is a new one and applies to MSFS only. I stand to be corrected on that one.
  24. Hello, your story appears to reflect the similar fate that befell the FlightSim Store. Life can be unfair, but there can also be an easy solution. You need to be contacting the developers, not another retail outlet. In the case of the FlightSim Store, most developers simply found another outlet and when customers provided their proof of purchase, granted them a licence at the new outlet instead. One thing is for sure, if you do nothing, apart from speculate, you will indeed end up paying the full price.
