PADU Unalaska requires some adjustment

Recommended Posts

Hello team

It happens that I was just flying in Unalaska with live weather and time, and noticed there are issues with the winter textures as you can see bellow

If I select any other weather then the issue goes away

Back to winter but at noon to make it a bit clearer.

I hope this can be fixed

Thanks

Carlos

Thank you Rob

I hope this can get fixed, and would be nice to read from Orbx of course, at least to know the developer is aware

Thanks a lot for checking too. It is a relieve to know it's not only on my side

Cheers

Carlos

  • 2 months later...

I summited this a long time ago (2023) and was told the developer is aware.  If they want to or can fix it is another question.  In my option it should not have been released as is, or there should have been a screen shot warning of this problem.

I never saw this in testing nor did anyone else.  Chances are it's something Asobo has introduced since the airport was developed that has changed the behaviour of textures.

Hi John

Okay but Tyrodes said it was reported in 2023, I also reported in January and Rob reconfirmed...so Orbx knows it needs a fix months ago.

We understand your explanation of what could have happened and we appreciate the clarification, but question here is, when it is going to be fixed?

I didn't even get an officially reply or comment in my report....

Thanks

Carlos

Just to clarify, here is what I received from Orbx Support some time ago (I added bold and underline).

Hello,
I have replicated your actions and confirmed the problem.
I have also installed the airport from Orbx Direct instead and the problem is still there.
If you had chosen to buy from Orbx Direct, I could have offered you a refund.
Third-party developers have no control over, or access to, the in-game Marketplace.
In any case, I have taken a screenshot of the problem and emailed it to the developer.

Hello,
the developer has replied and he says that he will take a look after the sesonal holidays.

Do you want to wait and see, or would you prefer a refund?

Hello,
the internal reply from the developer was:

“It happens only with snow. it should be a bug in the sim as padu has a custom photoreal. Probably photoreal with snow causes this bug”

If so, then please let people know before they buy it.  Especially on Marketplace where you can't get a refund.  It's a show stopper, and it snows a lot in Alaska.

But the hole sim is photoreal.

I have seen similar effects in default snowy scenery in Greenland also.
