Mont Blanc Part 1

Mont Blanc (meaning "white mountain") is the highest mountain in the Alps and Western Europe, rising 4,807.81 m (15,774 ft) above sea level.

The Mont Blanc massif is a mountain range in the Alps, located mostly in France and Italy, but also straddling Switzerland at its northeastern end. It contains eleven major independent summits, each over 4,000 metres (13,123 ft) in height.

I took many screenshots on this flight (MSFS). So I have broken it into three parts.

The flight is from Lyon to Mont Blanc and then to Sallanches.

Departure is from LFLL  Lyon–Saint-Exupéry Airport (Orbx partner Digital Design). The detail both outside and inside this airport is first class.

It is the international airport of Lyon, the third-biggest city in France and an important transport facility for the entire Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

First a map to show where we are in the world

First of all Paul, you can ask Gerold, I love maps and flight route plans etc. So, thanks for that first image :) Secondly, some more nice looking images of this little epic tour of the Mount Blanc region of the Alps.

Many thanks Landon :). I too think a map or flight plan helps a lot.

Thanks Calum :). It is an excellent airport. It even has a moving train.  I only discovered it by accident!

Holy smoke Paul, great drone work, these are outstanding.  Yet another to buy because of the interior.

Thank you Jack :). After a few weeks work, I am finally comfortable using the drone!

Splendid set of images Paul

I like the design of the airport building, it looks like a butterfly.:)

Thanks Martyn :). The detail is amazing.

"The most distinctive feature of Lyon Airport is perhaps not directly related to the airport itself, but rather to the railway station that is connected to it. Gare de Lyon Saint-Exupéry, expertly designed by world-famous architect Santiago Calatrava, totally steals the show as passengers and airplanes arrive at the airport. It was inaugurated on 28 June 1994. It is shaped like a huge bird, with a total area of 29,800 m² (400 m long and 53 m wide) "

You are not alone Paul, I did the same at Changi the other day .

I think, once a good air traffic programme is released for MSFS, I will start just spending time in the control tower watching! ;):lol:

Yes, it needs just a few additions like that to make it perfect.:)

great set, love the building and it's strange design.....if that is a railway station did it come with the addon or was it with the MSFS scenery?

Thanks Wayne :).  Pretty sure that its the add-on which covers quite a large area.
