Rodger Pettichord
Hi Folks. IMGUR apparently swallowed my posting of the new Beaver repaint we came up with for our novel. Here's a second try. Just finishing a novel trilogy about WWII. Features a B-25 outfit, The Rubber Ducks. After the war, the Rubber Ducks become a covert civilian outfit (think Air America) named ROORD Air Transport. Soon after the naming, it is realized that the new acronym is RAT. So now we have Ducks flying as RATs in a Beaver. TeD "TuFun" Wolfgang thoughtfully repainted a MilViz Beaver for us in the new company colors. We are parked at Dead Horse on Alaska's North Slope, where the Beaver's adventures take place in Book III of the novel.. The Dead Horse terminal. ORBX has done a nice job with this isolated facility. Take off from Dead Horse. Nothing but marshes and tundra and mosquitoes for many miles around. The Dead Horse complex. Housing for the Pruhoe Bay oil works. The marshy scenery is typical and extensive. ORBX has given it good detail so that we get a real sense of it. The refinery near Prudhoe Bay, home of oil-works and stir-crazy oilmen. Turning east. If we must set down, TeD has given us colors that will be seen. Please come looking! Down to Valdez for a change of scenery -- actually for any scenery at all after the endless flat marshes of the North Slope. The Valdez terminal. The pilots of these small Dash 8 regionals must really earn their money over a year's flying challenges. Lots of "interesting" weather there. Taxiing out to the runway. Take-off from Valdez. Climb-out from Valdez. Passing the tank farm on the way out. On the way. Aiming for ORBX headquarters in Australia, but I'm not sure my Duck RAT Beaver has the legs. Gotta try, though, eh, Cobbers? Thanks for coming along! Edited 23 hours ago by Rodger Pettichord several typos
flyingleaf
Wonderful Rodger. Great shots great narrative. However, the Mule Team respectfully requests that y'all don't pick up our passengers or y'all have to deal with Hilda, Meatloaf and T-bone and I don't think y'all wanna do that. Mules, Ducks, RATs, Beavers, Gooney Birds. Getting to be a menagerie around here.
