I did it the other way in '58 on the Queen Elizabeth, I did see the SS United States a couple of times from the train at Southampton going up to Waterloo.:)

Thanks OND. Wow that's a real speed demon:)

 

Just because, on our last cruise I got some information on the ship and did a calculation on what the mpg rating was. It was about 35 ft. :(

Had coffee with the chief engineer and he confirmed my calcs.  But he said we move about 3000 folks and a lot of stuff in that 35 ft:D
