I downloaded the latest version of the UK2000 EGKK and I now don't have the problem with doubled up scenery etc...

Thanks for the response... I tried deleting the UK2000 East Midlands and re-downloading and installing. It worked, I don't know why, as it's just a folder and an entry in a text file.

You don't seem to have the ORBX libraries (downloadable free on FTX Central). Just a heads-up for you, you'll need 'em sometime. Put them right at the bottom.

 

Anyway, here's my suggested .ini file. Mainly cosmetic and not perfect but functional. Try disabling your scenery plugins one by one (OpenX etc etc) as I suspect the culprit is there somewhere. Start off by deleting all the scenery libraries except the ORBX and UK2000 ones and add them in one at a time and check. A pain but should eventually solve it. Let us know how you're getting on?

I don't see anywhere to download the Orbx Libraries in my Orbx FTX Central. I'm on version v3.3.14

When you click the Orbx libraries as shown above you should get to the next screen shown below. If you haven't then someone from ORBX might advise you further as that's me done for the night now! Good luck Matey.

If you experience interference from TE GB at a third party airport and the scenery layers are as per above, please contact the developer and request an exclusion to be correctly added. Update 18-Oct-18: We will add exclusions to all affected airports by incorporating fixes contributed by FlyAgi in the topic below, and also adding our own fixes for missing exclusions. In this way we can patch TE GB in a coordinated, official way via FTX Central. Thanks for your patience in the meantime.

@John Venema - sorry John, but I'm a little confused looking at my 'ini' file order as there are other files in between all the OrbX True Earth files. Is that ok? For example, Shoreham Roads is one of the files in question, as are Barton Overlay and Landmarks - Sydney, Also the OrbX Library file is right at the bottom as well, Is that were it should be?

 

Please would you have a quick look at the order of my 'ini' files and check if they are all in order.

Greetings to all - just purchased the Southern England scenery pack and downloaded, and it says it's 100% converted.

 

1)Am totally new to all this tweaking of scenery file editing, so please excuse an old fella for posting his bits here and asking folk to see if the order of these entries needs tweaking at all!!

2)  Am seriously considering purchasing the Southampton Airport as it is my home local airport - where would the ini file go within this list after purchase?

 

and lastly 

3)  I've clicked my update Orbx library blue icon within FTX central, and on clicking the install button, I get a license error message.  Help!!

Any changes needed - all the ORBX files appear beneath London.  Is the Xplane Sydney file in the wrong place??

1. You are not excused. Age is not a reason to be apologetic Don't know your age but have you registered for Senior Discount, should you qualify that is.

2. Your scenery.ini looks OK to me. Just to be a bit tidier, you could move your other Landmarks below the True Earth layers but just leave the London landmarks where they are as in the example below:

 If you are going to get Southampton then get it now while the sale is on.

It will go above Global airports in the scenery,ini.

 Rule of thumb for the .ini is:

Addon Airports

Global Airports

Sceneries like TEGB, Landmarks, Overlays(refers to Ortho4xp scenery)

Libraries(of which you have non except maybe Orbx when your hassle is resolved)

Orthophoto scenery (NOT Orbx but that made by you with Ortho4xp)

Mesh (3rd party)

Really helpful Jjaycee - really appreciate that list - and yes I will be getting Southampton whilst it's in the sale!!!

Is the GB Central library in the sale as well??…….mind you, I'll be checking that one out!

 

I'll also now be having to upgrade my graphics card!!!  I knew I'd have to if I bought this scenery as at best I'm only getting sub 25fps on my current built in graphics.  To my surprise, taking off from Exeter, my frame rate was similar......until I got near to Bristol or any other major town which made things go a little juttery.  Still - a good excuse now to get that upgrade....

 

I'm seeing the Orbx plugin recognised within the plugin tab in flight, so I know it's all gone in smoothly.  And it's been working without the need for me to tweak anything, but bearing in mind the Southampton airport is on the cards, your rule of thumb list is really appreciated.

Simplest solution.

 

DISABLE London Laminar.  Problem solved.  If you can do without the london eye (a monstrosity anyway) and a couple of other places, our capital loads and displays perfectly.

I have removed GBPro BTW - I assume that that is now redundant?

Yes it looks fine but I would ask if you have the default XP11 file of London Landmarks? If so then place it just below Global Airports and above the Orbx TEGB entries.

TEGB North has 2 Overlay folders. One is for the mainland and the other is a default overlay covering the part of Northern Ireland that is in TEGB North.

Most of the uploads/screenshots I see online of the ini file have the landmarks above Global Airports. I have them above my libraries, and below addon airports. The 'virgin' scenery.ini file, if you have no addons at all (I keep a copy of a clean XP11 on another PC) has all the landmarks files right at the top of the ini file.

2. If you use GB Pro you risk doubling up POIs etc so delete it as it is now redundant

3. I don't think anyone on these fora has Landmark files at the top. A recent beta install of XPL put those files below Global Airports.

Could post several screenshots - they must have it wrong too! Will change it now. 

 

What about other 'cityscapes', such as DD's New York city - do they also need to go below Global Airports? I am supposing not and that they are different cases from the Laminar landmarks... The designers often specify above or below the main airport there (e.g. KJFK) - and sometimes they specify the city should be above and sometimes below (which is odd in itself), but I have never seen an instruction for this in relation to Global Airports. The scenery looks OK in the sim, so I suppose they are OK as I have them.

 

In summary my ini file is arranged like this (if anyone sees any further issues, please let me know!):

 

Aerosoft Airports (that came with my XP11 Aerosoft edition + a couple of payware upgrades, e.g. EGLL)

Miscellaneous excludes/files I made that need a high priority in order to work (only a few of those)

All 3rd. party airports

XP11 Global Airports

X-Plane Landmarks ....

ORBX TEGB

Libraries

Ortho4XP overlays

Ortho4XP terrain

HD global scenery

Gents, some help please. Just installed TE GB North and flying around Edinburgh area, my scenery just doesn't look as detailed as it should (See images) (Compared to vids on You Tube of the same area). I have verified the downloaded files with FTX Central and all is reported as OK. Suspect may have an issue with scenery packs.ini?

 

Any comments on my .ini please?

@Gedi You need to attach your scenery.ini rather than just list it. I will then be able to adjust a couple of things for you and return it.

Regarding the pics you have submitted it would appear that you have your World Objects settings very low because you are missing lots of autogen and buildings etc.  You need to set your World Objects to Max with TEGB. Looking at your fps reading of +50 fps it would indicate that your PC would be able to accommodate the additional maximum World Objects setting.

Does this apply to the TE GB South demo? I downloaded the demo, and installed it with FTX but it did not show up when I opened the program, and then I went to start at one of the listed airports in that scenery pack but still no good. Then I came to the support forum and read your post then looked over my scenery.ini file and the airports were farther down so I rearanged them to the following...but when I loaded x plane the TE scenery still does not appear so I must still have something incorrect. Perhaps the OrbxlibsXP line of text? I'm new to the program but have successfully loaded one scenery pack for Portland OR KPDX and it worked ok for me. Thanks for any assistance you can provide!

As Fizzelle says, you need to send your .ini as an attachment because you have only shown a bit of it in your post and therefore it is not possible to comment regarding whether it is correctly layered or not.
