Boulder City Municipal

Recommended Posts

I’ve been developing Boulder City airport, stones throw from Las Vegas, I need more photos.

Please if anyone lives near here or is willing to travel, all expenses paid it would be of great help.

The scenery package covers a huge photoreal area including the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead, so far I’ve modelled over 20 points of interest with heaps more to go, this package will link up with another developers (not Orbx)Las Vegas Airport.

if you can help or know anyone who can help please pm me.

cheers

Ken

Ken, I am a bit far away now and have only been there once in my life. Anyway, this would be a GREAT destination. I hope you can find locals to help with material. An excellent choice for sure.

Kind regards, Michael

Hey Ken - Besides the obvious nearby attractions like Lake Mead and Hoover Dam this place is a very unique landmark : https://www.google.com/search?q=railroad+pass+casino+photos&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjW6d7Og_7XAhVL02MKHbZ8CEsQsAQINA&biw=1528&bih=961

I don't live nearby but have been through here many times in RL in the past . Good luck with your new project . :):)

Cheers

It's a far cry from Tassie mate, and a far cry (too far) from me here in Mississippi, but of late I have noticed an influx of American simmers here on the forum so I am positive that you will find someone to assist you in your search.. Good luck with it anyway, it sounds like a great piece of scenery...Teecee.

It is certainly very different from tassie mate but the scenery is truely magnificent and deserves the best I can give it.

Good luck Ken and did I read that you would pay for me to go and get your photos, all expenses paid......

.....or was it a dream!

I, along with a myriad of others, look forwards to adding this destination to our collections.:D

not a dream mate I'd go myself but after flightsimcom another 14 hours on an A380 cattle class is not a pleasant thought

Ken, do I understand correctly that you only need pictures of the airport or also of the surrounding area? My wife, daughter and I did a 10 weeks trip through the western US from May to July and we visited Lake Mead, Hoover Dam and we drove through Boulder on our way to Las Vegas. I took loads of pictures, but of course I didn't think of scenery design then, just the touristy stuff. So I don't know if any of them could help you. We started from the Valley of Fire, drove along the north shore of Lake Mead to Hoover Dam and through Boulder to Las Vegas. If you can tell me what exactly you are looking for, I could look through my files and see if I can find something.

Hi Ken!

I live right next door to Boulder in Henderson, so its about 8 miles away. My brother works for Boulder PD and one of the areas he covers is the airport. I have a decent camera, Nikon D700 with numerous lenses and a tripod. I'd be happy to see what I can get you and work with you on this. Let me know if you need my contact info and we can work something out on the details.

Happy to hear you are working on Boulder City airport and even more so that you big name developers I imagine to a degree in this case work together or at least talk to each other to make your products compatible. This benefits us all :)

i dont know if you can or even want to share this information but I give it a shot;. Since you talk about a huge photoreal area to the east of Boulder including Hoover Dam, Lake Mead etc, this area includes some small airports along the way. Will you make any adjustments to these in any way? Lite renditions perhaps, put a Orbx magic touch to them if you will. Would be awesome in addition to the full fat Boulder City airport.

Thanks fabs, you may have something of use for sure, I’m including many POIs, places like the Casino, Veterans home boulder dam warehouse and helipad the larger of the 2 golf clubs I still have to do, the rest is mainly photos of the airport I need and thanks to vegasjon777 I think we now have that part covered.

cheers

The PR is big but I didn’t notice any smaller strips, if you could share any info you have on them I’ll see what I can do.

Hi Folks,

Yep - intrigued - finally Las Vegas gets a more GA friendly airport... Best of luck...

:)

Seems like much of the airport is dedicated to heavy scenic flights by helicopters and Twotters... If some of this could be replicated in AI - it would sure make for some interesting operations... Meshing with - Fly Tampa ? - sounds awesome as well...

Regards,
Scott

As far as AI goes Graham’s the man, pretty sure he will include some joy flights, don’t think we can do much about the choppers though.

cheers
