Do you have a sound system to match the quality of this beautiful cockpit?

Thank you. I have 5.1 surround sound speakers (with the bass woofer turned up high) and a separate HD channel via the Samsung monitor for the ATC audio through headphones.

I like it!  Where did you get those very good looking instruments?

The 'instruments' and the GPS display both use some old 19 inch flat screen monitors behind home-made panels. The software for the gauges is from http://www.peixsoft.com/index.php?page=ga-panel and the bezels from http://rcsimulations.co.uk. Hope that helps.

I have to agree, that orange glow night lighting looks fabulous!

Thanks for your comments.

The instrument night colour is a standards feature of http://www.peixsoft.com/index.php?page=ga-panel  when assigned to an external switch or key controlling the aircraft panel lights. The actual panel itself is illuminated just using a LED strip hidden at the top of the panel.

This weeks project is to design, build and test a fuel and crossfeed box for a twin-engine GA.

Elsewhere on this Forum, a question was asked about how to connect multiple monitors. If the graphic card supports it, and multiple views are required (e.g. front and 2 side screens) all the monitors can be setup as an extended desktop and with the Sim in full screen, the side views can be opened in new windows, undocked and dragged onto the required area. Depending on the PC, with this approach there may be a considerable loss of FPS.

Alternatively, if running other applications (virtual instruments, navigation programs etc,) it is better to network on separate PCs with their own monitors, so as not to take resources from the main Sim program. The networked PCs can, to save cost as in my application, be old laptops with second-hand external monitors. With Dowson's FSUIPC and WideFS software it is really easy to do (with the bonus of being able to interface external switches, panels etc.

The image shows my current setup.

That's beyond amazing Dave.  I'm literally in awe, how did you figure all this out?  I wish I could pay you to come to my house and set mine up like this.

'Necessity is the mother of invention', I would like the space and budget to build some of these other great looking cockpits, so have to use some ingenuity to achieve a reasonable looking and fully functional setup. Apart from the radio panel and USB interface boards, everything is home-made or second hand to keep the cost down, so I have some spare funds for ORBX scenery and airports!

An audio panel for the pilot/instructor station, an autopilot panel and warning lamp panel are still to be designed/made.

If anyone is interested, I am happy to answer any questions on my system so far.

Thanks Dave, I might take you up on the offer one day but until I hit the lottery I wouldn't be able to afford that hardware.
