Flying across PNG this weekend, Ken´s famous lawn mover came into view again...

In Woitape...

... another one in Fane...

... I found the next one in Kosipe...

... and the people in Ononge also have one. Seems to be a good selling item there!

But... even after long search I did not find one in Tapini, none in Asimba, and none in Yongai, though the usual fuel drums are there...

Anybody out there to help me B)?

Bingo! You have now uncovered the real reason for air travel in PNG, they all share the same lawnmower, rather than buy more than one they share it and use the twin otter to move it around, that's banana politics for you.

nice investigative work backed up buy some very fine screenshots.

definitely worthy of the MAGNUM PI AWARD

Cheers

Ken

Thank you mates, it was a pleasure to fly there (some hours, with some aircraft). I´ll share the evidence soon here.

Great fun to transport the lawnmover service from village to village. But... even using the big chopper I could not spot the movers at the other 3 places. Bob will come into play soon... or the Robinson [or, meeting the Magnum PI award, TC´s Bell?]

Having a keen eye for such things, let me complement you on your composition of each shot.  You know how to enhance the depth-of-field.

Thank you very much for this compliment, Mr. PDX!

Cutting just my nails, while spotting for these yellow machines. Ken made this task hard...

Gripping experience! Might as well be a lawn mower monopole.

Greetings,

This could be another explanation for the harmonized look. At least spare parts are easy to supply.

A request to anyone here: Who can find movers in Tapini, in Asimba and in Yongai? I am convinced there must be some.

They are that John, Gerold does not let the grass grow under his feet.

Maybe next time he should fly around in his Victa.

Thanks Martyn, and congrats to your new (temporary?) avatar.

Unfortunately my investigation was without success at the remaining airstrips - hopefully someone else can find the yellow mover there....!

Grand set Gerold...I seem to remember seeing an RC Flying lawnmower somewhere...

Here you go.. . we must have a flying lawn mower in this fine scenery :D

Ah, that would be a well-suited ObjectFlow for Ken´s next playground...>:D

I have been meaning to change it for ages Gerold as a tribute to the unbelievable effort Eddie Howe and the team have made this year for AFC Bournemouth in the EPL. I never expected them to do as well as they have done and they should be there again next year barring some bizarre results.

I went to many games at Bournemouth between 1966 and 1975 when I lived there so they are still one of the first results I look for on a Sunday morning.

I hope the avatar stays there for a long time.
