Classic Trio

Being mortified that LM have yet again failed to address the "popcorn clouds" issue, I resorted to switching back to FEX from my trusty old REX/Texture Direct.

FEX allows a little more control in the colouring of the undersides of clouds, which softens up those dreadful P3D blobby clouds a little. So ... here's a trio of "oldies but goldies" to demonstrate:

I don't think there's ever been a more beautiful military jet:

This tired old Flight1 ATR72-500 refuses to work properly in P3Dv3 (sadly) but looks OK from the outside. Still one of my favourite turboprops:

You can't get more "classic" than this! This is the RealAir "Skalski" Spitfire MkIX:

Observers will note that I'm back in NZNI after my little jaunt to Lake Tahoe!

Great classics. I gave up with the F1 ATR. First, it refused to work in FSX. I reinstalled my machine and miraculously it started to work. But sometimes the darn thing freezes and I don't  want to spend "hours" trying things before I fly.

Another reason why I Ike the MJC Dash8 Q400, such a pleasure to fly and always works.

Excellent trio of shots Adam.

Is your avatar piloting the Spitfire:lol: which BTW  is a remarkable clear shot.

Agree with you about the Hunter, must be the first military jet I can remember seeing.:)

Ah, the joys of FS RJ. I seem to spend more time adding, updating and installing things rather than flying these days:huh:. Occasionally sometimes things need fixing but it is a great feeling with my limited knowledge when I can get something running that has been a problem.

Those are beautiful shots for sure and I agree with you about the popcorn clouds with P3D, one serious reason that makes me stick with FSX. About the Hawker Hunter, it's a super good looking aircraft, we have one that is based at the Quebec airport, still in good working order (it did fly several times this year).

Those are great shots Adam...even if we disagree about the most beautiful military jet. ;)

When I was back in the UK, I lived near RAF Kemble - that has a company specialising in Hunter restoration. They would often give "private" or local displays, that would sometimes include twenty Hunters - flown in from all over the world. Simply amazing!!! Also - as some of these weren't "official" displays, the routines weren't bound by the usual display regulations (ie. faster, lower, closer ... NOISIER!!).
