Some musicians are so good they count other musicians as fans. Beck was one of those. Thanks, Adam!

Hi all. Over the years, I've been lucky enough to experience a number of different kinds of work. I liked and took pride in them all, and I now enjoy fond memories of them and the people I worked with. My list is -- farm laborer, grounds maintenance crew, factory basic laborer, skilled factory worker, night watchman, university lecturer, university administrator, and parish clergyman. And that leads to this week's topic. THIS WEEK'S MEANINGLESS TOPIC: What jobs have you held in your lifetime?

Just Stevie Ray Vaughan The GOAT
Rodger Pettichord replied to adambar's topic in The Neil Hill Memorial Lounge
I can't narrow my choices for greatest guitarist down to one, but Stevie Ray Vaughan is certainly in the final selection. Thanks, Adam. -
Hi all. There's nothing like hopping into my Tiger Moth biplane and heading out for some sightseeing. My favorite trip was island-hopping in the Aegean Sea in the late afternoon while the air colors changed. Truly memorable! I also enjoy flying the Stampe SV4 in the locations of High Road to China, my favorite flying movie. Can't beat an open cockpit, engine-chugging, wind-whistling biplane! And that brings us to this week's topic. THIS WEEK'S MEANINGLESS TOPIC: What biplane do you enjoy flying, and where do you like to fly in it?

Hi all. Years ago, I was an advisor to foreign students at an American university. Later, another job put me in over twenty countries around the world for eight years of two-month assignments. In those times, I got to hear English spoken with many fascinating accents, from the fluid syllables of India and Africa, to the musical tones of Asia, to the home-grounded versions in Europe, to the wonderful variety in the British Isles, to the flow of the American South and, of course, to the friendly broadness of Australia and the Pacific Islands. And that leads to this week's topic. THIS WEEK'S MEANINGLESS TOPIC: What accents of English do you enjoy hearing?

The Battle Of Britain (1969)
Rodger Pettichord replied to adambar's topic in The Neil Hill Memorial Lounge
One of my novels included the Battle of Britain. I remember during the research phase being flabbergasted by the sheer significance of it and by the realities within it. Thanks, Adam. -

Hi All. I've been remembering the good old days when I was a kid and the family would pile into the car for the weekly Sunday drive. Sometimes we would go up into the Cascades to a lake or river. Sometimes over to Mt. Hood or up to Mt. St. Helens for some snow time. Sometimes a drive up the Columbia Gorge to a scenic spot. Sometimes a daytrip to the Pacific beaches. Sometimes over to Portland for the zoo or the Rose Gardens. Lots of fond memories, and that leads to this week's topic. THIS WEEK'S MEANINGLESS TOPIC: What outings did you enjoy when you were a kid?
