  1. I wouldn't apply for a job in marketing, Marcus, you are far too honest As an illustration so folks can judge here's my final approach to ESNU 32 in the Daher with Navigraph installed and no changes made via the package re-order tool. The localizer brings me down slightly left of the centre line but definitely on the runway. On one occasion I let the autopilot fly for far too long - here's where it put me (wind about 10 knots from the North) I'd say this is typical of the slight misalignments but it's not. It's actually about the worst that I could find. All the best, John
  2. Hi there. Orbx has no control over this I'm afraid. Looks like a major improvement to the airfield! The product was developed by Pilot Plus and we simply market it. You could try opening a support ticket with them. https://pilotplus.io/product-support/ All the best, John
  3. My experience is that the order remains. It's saved in the content.xml file in the LocalCache folder. Edit. Also, if I'm honest, even with Navigraph enabled I have to look very hard to spot any misalignment. It's slight at worst. All the best, John
  4. I've loved all the reply's However, I'm disappointed no-one has mentioned Shinty. I'm disqualified from mentioning it because I'm from Scotland! I believe the Irish have a version called Hurling. Not sure how to describe it. Stick and ball game. A bit like hockey but without the sensible rules. Forget the team doctor and call for the team dentist All the best, John
  5. ... You actually had to leave your house to go and meet up with your friends. Fortunately I still have enough old fashioned friends. But we do move with the times What's app is a great way of arranging when we'll get together in the pub All the best, John
  6. I will admit to, on occasion, watching American Football. What I hadn't realised until my son married Morgan, a lass from Nebraska, was that the NFL is not really where it's at. College football is the real heart of the sport. I have even been to a match - at Memorial Stadium the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. 80,000 or more home fans, always a sell-out apparently. Morgan's Dad used to play trumpet in the marching band when he was a student there and remains a great fan. He introduced me to the whole experience, including Tail Gating, and seemed genuinely impressed that I actually knew some of the rules! So - for me - Go Huskers All the best, John
  7. Hi John. I use Google Earth Pro. Not sure if it's common knowledge but when you zoom in beyond a certain level 1985 appears at the bottom left. Clicking on that makes a slider appear in top left which allows you to select imagery from various dates. The most recent for Gold Coast appears to be November 2022, just after the new terminal opened. All the best, John
  8. A fair point Christopher but there are a number of partners who's POI's would have been compromised by ours. Having On/Off options for all these individually was probably not realistic. Rightly or wrongly I encouraged the developers to remove such conflicting POI's. So I'll take responsibility for suggesting that as a policy and the removal of Victory and Warrior is in line with it. As Wolfko mentioned that was also in line with the feedback we had. All the best, John
  9. A great and, definitely, contentious issue Rodger. So from my purely personal perspective - which others seem to share. The last place I want to spend time in real life is the inside of a terminal. So when testing I'll take on board what the developer intends and test accordingly. Nice to have but not, for me, a priority. I'm guessing we love FS because we want to be in the cockpit. So yes, to me, a detailed airport from the cockpit perspective is an important thing. That probably includes enough of an interior to give some depth arriving at the gate. More importantly it includes things like the ILS's working correctly. The first thing I check. One of the pleasures of a Simulator (not game) is that you can pull up a real world chart and fly the approach as it lays down. When you arrive it's nice to have a detailed airport from the pilots perspective. So, yes, to me that's important. Personally I love the tiny wee strips, not the major airports. Maybe, if their is enough demand, someone will create a passenger simulator to model the endless and slow moving queues of bored looking people waiting to get to the next bit of the terminal Has anyone else noticed (in real life) that tends to bring out the best in people? None of us want to be there but we understand why it's happening so we get on well together. No pushing or shoving. I digress. All the best, John
  10. v103 as made public (a mistake on our part) didn't actually update anything. Going back to v102 is, apparently, a way of trying to correct this so that the proper version 103 will be seen by people. v102 is the same as v100 as far as I know. Makes my head hurt Anyway, I've now tested the 'real' v 103 so, in answer to your question Christopher. The ships around the scenery - particularly in places like Portsmouth and Plymouth - have been removed. This hopefully leaves the field free for the likes of Seafront to do their specialised thing. They had already provided an update to their Vessel SE to solve conflicts with our HMS Victory and Warrior, we've now removed our versions anyway. It does leave Devenport looking a bit empty - I live in hope of a Vessels SW. Love Seafronts work It should mean all our static ships with static wakes have been removed. I didn't see any left but it's a large area to check The other thing is that some improvements have been made to the Severn Bridge. As far as I know that's it! I suspect it might be best to simply uninstall and reinstall when the v103 I'm now seeing goes public. All the best, John
  11. Yes it is. For me an honour to work with folks like Andreas who have been producing such great scenery for so long. All the best, John
  12. I'm still not seeing any changes Nick, suspect you aren't either. Sorry Paul and Charles but we'll try behind the scenes to find out what is going on. All the best, John .
  13. Hi Charles. As far as I can see the latest update from Seafront Simulations of their vessels UK South East has at least sorted out the compatibility issues around Portsmouth - most importantly I am now just seeing their HMS Victory. I know as much as you about the status of any update from our side. All the best, John
  14. Hi there. As far as I know nothing has changed at all (apart from the version number). The build became visible to team members a while back and I checked then. Just checked again and as far as I can tell it's exactly the same as v100. Not a clue why it appeared in the first place but I suspect that making it visible publicly may have been unintentional. All the best, John
  15. Strange since, of course, it never rains in Scotland Some lovely shots Iain. All the best, John
  16. Just had a chance to look at the video. I spotted a Vulcan in there. I was lucky enough to see the last one before it was finally grounded a few years ago. All the best, John
  17. So let's not throw stones - or is that just a British saying! Please understand - in sorrow not in anger. All the best, John
  18. I have a South African friend who tells me we brits invented concentration camps. Long time ago but appreciate the point. All the best, John
  19. I tried not to give too much detail on Avogadro's number for fear of sparking off delayed PTSD in our honoured old coots. A future topic perhaps - what do you remember from your school science All the best, John
  20. I'm struggling with the first section - all three seem not to add-up to 3. MATHEMATICS: which formulas do not add up to three? 1. 1 brick+2 bricks = 2 bricks. They are on a 3 for 2 offer at my local DIY store. Try again Burgess 1. 1 brick+2 bricks = 1 pile of bricks. 2. 2 Manchester United fans + 1 Liverpool fan = 1 helluva fight 3. 2 to 1 that your horse will lose at Hannover's Neue Bult Racecourse = 1 (the probability that any nag I back will lose). I thought number 3 might be a trick question but there is such a racecourse so I could, in theory, place a bet there I'm researching the rest. Some early results. BIOLOGY: which creatures have four legs? 2. Australians after closing hours - an easy one, obviously not true. The correct answer apparently is no legs (legless was the phrase which actually came up on google). Physics 2. How many atoms are not enough to fill a hungry Welshman? More a Chemistry question this. The answer is less than 10 x Avogadro's Constant. 1 mole has little meat on it and it takes at least 10 of the little critters to satisfy the Welshman's hunger. CHEMISTRY: which of the following are used in chemistry experiments? 2. Beakers, test tubes, and Bunsen burners is the obvious answer but, then, what would I cook the moles with All the best, John
  21. Indeed it is Rob. We have no shortage of it in this area! As for your ancestors I still reckon that you may well be connected to the village of Abernethy which would be just out of shot in the distance on the right here.
  22. I knew I had this somewhere. A few years ago I got a chance to have a flight in a gyrocopter from our local airport (EGPT) which is less than a mile away from where I live - in this village called Balbeggie. Our nearest big town is Perth, a few miles away. The photo below was taken on what we call the bus pass walk (we're old enough to have them!). A few miles strolling over the wee hills between home and Perth then catch the bus back. The hills in the background don't look much on the photo (too wide angle) but those are the actual Scottish Highlands. This is what one of the hills to the left on the horizon looks like close up! Of course, being Scotland, the sun always shines All the best, John
  23. My family are in Omaha. My son Pete used to instruct out of Council Bluffs (Iowa) but is now a pilot with United. I've even got to go to a Huskers game in Lincoln! As for flying online - I've never tried it but maybe should. Never heard of 'go to airport' Back in the day Rob A and I were testers for Radar Contact so I got to learn a bit about atc whilst doing that. The one thing I remember above all else was Doug, who was the actual air traffic controller, mentioning someone who said it's a bit boring (in other words it always worked the same way). His reply - that's how it's supposed to work! All the best, John
  24. - It's even worse across this side of 'the pond'. A fine sounding route you've suggested Ken. Always loved exploring the first section - Cle Elum and Felts field are sceneries I haven't visited for a while. I remember the waterfalls in the middle of Spokane. Mind you I'd have to take a detour down into Nebraska to visit the grandkids! A turn SE from Mount Rushmore should do the trick! All the best, John
