Suddenly we dropped down and the water seemed to be directly left and right of me. Jumped up and we were back in the cloud. Jumped down and back "in" the water - still no runway in sight. But I knew that pilot would do the flight more than daily, so I trusted them fully.

I got it, because on one of the signs it says Ascensore. That's Italian for elevator. So I googled for interior pics of LIEO.
The ascensore is correct, and could have even gotten a hint by Meridiana airlines (they did not fly to too many destinations, with LIEO being their headquarter and the only Orbx one).

A good meaningful topic this week, causing so many great memories. And sharing them!
I think for me it was the day when the 777 purser asked me "Do you want to see the landing from the cockpit?" Quite an easy decision to make. I got prepared with all my hand luggage ready for deboarding well before the Top of Descend, when I was called to get ahead. I got a little nervous when the crew instructed me how to use the oxygen mask. But with the 3rd pilot sitting next to me explaining all the details from approach planning, choice of run- and taxiways I felt perfect. The unexpected but undramatic sidestep to a parallel runway in the last minutes was just a cherry on the cake.
The only disadvantage was that we were the last passengers to leave the plane then, as they all were flowing against my direction towards the hand luggage.

Only coffee here in Half Moon Bay, so I asked the airport manager where I might get a cold beer. He gave me a hint, but told me not to mention it to the Sheriff. So I left the west coast...
... initially in northerly direction, ...
... and into the Pacific sunset.
The californian coast looked great, here at San Pedro Point...
... and soon I reached Golden Gate Park.
The famous bridge glowed in red.
Traffic, traffic...
A little climb made sure we stayed safe and were able to escape from Alcatraz.
Oakland Bay bridge and the CBD, empty, probably because the workers had left for home and foreign tourists are still excluded in the pandemic.
Oakland city itself...
... with a nice little detail practicing. A foiling catamaran, as they were used for the 2010-2017 America´s Cups.
Time to close in for the intended drink...
... and to land at the SFO city airport.

A long flight, but one with a really diverse landscape. Starting out over Lake Tahoe, ...
... before we cross the Sierra Nevada on the way south.
I love these shadows in the cockpit.
The next famous lake on the route is Mono Lake. I think it looks much more detailed and coloured in MSFS.
But the lake was only the starting point to cross the mountains towards a valley...
... a famous valley with a Half Dome.
Yosemite Valley it is.
Here we pass El Capitan...
... and catch a look back towards the valley entry.
The flat (and dry) lands begin with the lakes Don Pedro and McClure.
Crossing the Diablo Range...
... on the way to the Guadalupe flats, at the southern end of the San Francisco bay.
We just hop over the coastal Santa Cruz mountains...
... before we descend into Half Moon Bay.
Sure there are some sights left nearby which can be visited on the following flight.
