  1. Hello,

Orbx will indeed continue to support its products and its customers but Orbx cannot support

problems encountered with the Marketplace delivery medium, not least because Orbx has no control over it.

Product support does not include moving product licences around between accounts with different

companies, unless there is a system in place that allows that and at present, there is not.

  2. Hello,

yes, I did find that interesting.

It seems that wherever you buy the download version, you are only buying the

~900 MB installer, which starts the simulator but then downloads all its core files

    from the Microsoft servers.

Any updates will come from there as well, so it is fair to assume that any Steam

verify files function will only verify the app and not the core files, which Steam does

    not host.

Similarly, if the DVD version is purchased, any updates will, I assume, also come via

    download from Microsoft themselves.

I am making some assumptions here and am ready to be corrected, but this is how

    it looks to me.

For the record, I chose to buy from Microsoft and have had to learn how to use the

    Microsoft Store.

  3. Hello,

as I mentioned, you must remember to choose the location of the files to match your chosen location

when installing for the first time.

Basically, the installation is in two parts and you can have those two parts together or separate.

As Jon explains, if you don't follow his advice, the app part will default to the C drive.

Even if you do not use the option that Jon has kindly explained, you can subsequently use the Move

option in Windows\Apps & Features\Right click on the game, to move the application files to where you

    want them as well.

  4. Hello,

you can not only put these types of apps wherever you want them, you can also move them easily.

Once installed, you can set that back to wherever you want for the next apps.

Note that as Jon mentions, this is only the apps, it is not the full installation, which you

can choose the destination for when you install it, just as with FSX, P3D, X Plane 11 and so on.

Two things I would love to see.

Can you distiguish the entries from Beta and Production code?

Nags with X-Plane too. Got two installations, one is Beta and the other Final

    Hello,

as you can now, hover your mouse cursor over each item in the simulator drop down menu

and you will see a tooltip that shows you where it is and its version.

Agree.... very exciting.... although way way waaaay back in my (46 year old - already simming for 32 years) head I have this little warning reminding me of how sudden, unexpected and abrupt Microsoft pulled the plug on the ACES team shattering all promises and expectations on future improvements of FSX.....

Nick, also all the images in the OP are posted through imgur.

Thus I can only open one pic at a time and have to close it again before I can open hhe next one. A bit inconvenient.

    Hello,

I see that they are, someone new to posting images I might guess, but I also don't see why you would need to do that.

I see just images, already open and in full view.

What are you using to view the forum with?

Super excited for this news not so excited that you guys have adopted a Imgur for your photos! Please Orbx find a different solution, Imgur is so cumbersome and annoying!-Preston

    Hello,

Orbx don't need an image hosting site, Ben used it for the one image, as is his and anyone else's free choice.

Are you having trouble viewing the image or did you just want to register a complaint?

  9. Hello Dave,

as you can tell from today's announcement, Orbx are well and truly on the case.

I have tried hard to keep rumour, gossip and misinformation out of these forums and stick to discussion of the

facts, as they have been revealed.

Avsim have a dedicated discussion forum, you are welcome to view that in the interim.

When the Orbx Microsoft Flight Simulator forum is created, it will be for the support of Orbx products, not the simulator.

However, opening a support forum for products for a simulator that have not been released is premature.
