Hello,
Orbx will indeed continue to support its products and its customers but Orbx cannot support
problems encountered with the Marketplace delivery medium, not least because Orbx has no control over it.
Product support does not include moving product licences around between accounts with different
companies, unless there is a system in place that allows that and at present, there is not.

Hello,
welcome to the forums.
As things stand, no there is not.
-
Hello,
Orbx Direct and the "Marketplace" are two separate entities.
Updates will be made available though whichever one the customer chose to use.
Here is the latest news:

They only see the xxxx take that was the London package which Im sure they are quickly scrambling to correct now... Those that have been around for awhile, know what a shake down the £$6 odd package really was.... shameful...
Ive been reading some of the replies from Orbx as well and it seems to be nothing short of quick smart alec remarks back instead of addressing the issue, more concerned with saving face than saving reputation. Maybe its some big elaborate plan for an Endgame we dont know about.... whatever it is.... its not what Orbx was based from and I do hope its not an indication of where they will be going.... "lets see what we can get away with"....
Hello,
the "Smart Alec" remarks have acknowledged the criticism and promised action.
There is no useful purpose to be served by continuing to post the same message that has been
heard loud and clear.
Unfounded rumours have no place in these forums.
I would add that the purpose of the topic is to illustrate the difference between the default and the Orbx Addon
and despite the remarks about one of them, it does so very well.
There is enough comment in this topic and am closing it, pending the promised update.

Hello,
that all makes sense to me.
I look forward to some of my favourite aircraft, not least a DC 3.
Those included are perfectly fine but do not necessarily cater to everyone's taste.
Like Jon writes, and indeed as we have been told loud and clear, this is only the beginning.
On that basis it is indeed remarkably good.

Hello,
yes, I did find that interesting.
It seems that wherever you buy the download version, you are only buying the
~900 MB installer, which starts the simulator but then downloads all its core files
from the Microsoft servers.
Any updates will come from there as well, so it is fair to assume that any Steam
verify files function will only verify the app and not the core files, which Steam does
not host.
Similarly, if the DVD version is purchased, any updates will, I assume, also come via
download from Microsoft themselves.
I am making some assumptions here and am ready to be corrected, but this is how
it looks to me.
For the record, I chose to buy from Microsoft and have had to learn how to use the
Microsoft Store.

Hello,
like so many of the uninformed and imaginative claims made before the details were released, that one turned out to be not the case.
That was why I put so much effort into keeping the invention and gossip out of the Orbx forums, with the intention
that in these forums at least, customers could read just the facts released by the developers.

Hello,
if you leave it to Orbx Central, it will install it either into the Community folder, or if you choose, into an Orbx Central Library

new products will be available for purchase at competitive pricing levels, ranging from US$7.99 to US$19.99
through both OrbxDirect and the Microsoft FlightSim Marketplace.

Hello,
yes.
It does not matter where you buy it, the software must be the same.

No, he wrote that if you do nothing, it will by default, be installed to the C drive,
something that may not be wanted.
-
Hello Derek,
I would say that until it's installed, the best thing to do is nothing.
I understand that both an app and its game files can be installed onto any drive of choice,
including onto the same drive as each other, so perhaps you have chosen D and G.
-
Hello,
as I mentioned, you must remember to choose the location of the files to match your chosen location
when installing for the first time.
Basically, the installation is in two parts and you can have those two parts together or separate.
As Jon explains, if you don't follow his advice, the app part will default to the C drive.
Even if you do not use the option that Jon has kindly explained, you can subsequently use the Move
option in Windows\Apps & Features\Right click on the game, to move the application files to where you
want them as well.

-
Hello,
you can not only put these types of apps wherever you want them, you can also move them easily.
Once installed, you can set that back to wherever you want for the next apps.
Note that as Jon mentions, this is only the apps, it is not the full installation, which you
can choose the destination for when you install it, just as with FSX, P3D, X Plane 11 and so on.

Can you distiguish the entries from Beta and Production code?
Nags with X-Plane too. Got two installations, one is Beta and the other Final
Hello,
as you can now, hover your mouse cursor over each item in the simulator drop down menu
and you will see a tooltip that shows you where it is and its version.

Agree.... very exciting.... although way way waaaay back in my (46 year old - already simming for 32 years) head I have this little warning reminding me of how sudden, unexpected and abrupt Microsoft pulled the plug on the ACES team shattering all promises and expectations on future improvements of FSX.....
Hello,
I guess that your glass is half empty.

Nick, also all the images in the OP are posted through imgur.
Thus I can only open one pic at a time and have to close it again before I can open hhe next one. A bit inconvenient.
Hello,
I see that they are, someone new to posting images I might guess, but I also don't see why you would need to do that.
I see just images, already open and in full view.
What are you using to view the forum with?
-
Hello,
an interesting question.
As nothing has been released, presumably the answer will become clear when something is.

Hello,
Orbx don't need an image hosting site, Ben used it for the one image, as is his and anyone else's free choice.
Are you having trouble viewing the image or did you just want to register a complaint?
-
Hello Dave,
as you can tell from today's announcement, Orbx are well and truly on the case.
I have tried hard to keep rumour, gossip and misinformation out of these forums and stick to discussion of the
facts, as they have been revealed.
Avsim have a dedicated discussion forum, you are welcome to view that in the interim.
When the Orbx Microsoft Flight Simulator forum is created, it will be for the support of Orbx products, not the simulator.
However, opening a support forum for products for a simulator that have not been released is premature.

Perfect, thanks.
How to register add on bought from marketplace to Orbx Central app?

There is no recommendation.
The customer must make their own choice.
As with any choice, it is good to be in possession of all the facts first.
