Bella Coola rescue mission

We had arrived in our private chopper in Bella Coola this morning and had made plans to do some exploring the following days. The rest of today was supposed to be a quiet and peaceful rest day, which we planned to enjoy thoroughly. But then it was rudely interrupted by a phone call, telling us that a group of six mountaineers got trapped after an avalanche on a plateau above a small lake some 90 miles away. We had the biggest chopper on the base, so after we had received their coordinates it was no question that we had to go on a rescue mission.

Ok, at 9 o’clock, there’s the small frozen lake. They must be on top of it.

It’s a quiet and peaceful day at Bella Coola again, but this time with six more, very happy souls on the base. Have another drink, gents. It’s on the house
