Frank Schnibben Posted February 6, 2014 Share Posted February 6, 2014 A few shots from some photoreal areas in NCA (not in geographical order)Lassen peak, southernmost active volcano in the Cascade Range and one of the largest lava domes on Earth (2 km³ / 0.5 cubic miles of lava):Glass Mountain, result of a rhyolite eruption only 1,000 years before present:Little Glass Mountain, same as above:Whitney Butte lava in the Lava Beds National Monument:Cinder Cone and the Fantastic Lava Beds:And of course the majestic Mount Shasta (4,322m / 14,179 ft) in the Cascade Volcanic Arc:Finally another two from Klamath Lake - although not of volcanic origin.
