John Heaton
Really enjoyed the whole video - thanks for sharing. I actually remember the Berlin Airlift quite well - being a teenager interested in flying and watching aero planes at Ringway airfield - now Manchester Airport 1

Rodger Pettichord
Did some research for this for a novel that included it in the story. What an amazing logistical feat. The various in and out routes to be coordinated, the planes procured, the foodstuffs and coal and medical supplies to be found, the German loading and unloading crews to learn best procedures -- all took an almost genius-level administration. Really quite a human highpoint. 2
wain71
superb video, an amazing achievement indeed....I spent 2 years based there in the 80's before the wall came down, what an amazing place it was, so much history...........we still had ration books for stuff like coffee even then....I must get back to see how it has changed....we had access to the olympic stadium, I took my now wife there and we walked around quite freely....we even had to escort Hess to hospital on one occasion... 1

Stillwater
The family of my mother lived in Tempelhof at the time of the airlift. Amazing stories showing what the fight for freedom means. Erst Reuter, the major of Berlin at that time held his famous speech during the airlift in 1948: "People of this world... look upon this city and see that you should not, cannot abandon this city and this people." One can use these words again since February 2022, and because of the same "initiator". 2
