High Gloss in the Deep South

I was thrilled to see a Kiwi repaint included Aeroplane Heaven’s Lockheed Electra 10-A new release on Orbx Direct.

Today I took ZK-AFD of Union Airways on a regional hop, from Invercargill (NZNV) at the far south end of New Zealand’s South Island, along the Catlins Coast, up to Taeiri (NZTI)- a grass airfield that served as the city of Dunedin’s primary airfield until the 1960’s.

Real world weather was pretty gloomy today, with showers of rain and the surface wind blowing 35 knots at both takeoff and landing. Luckily I managed to time my arrival with a break in the clouds and bright sunlight upon touchdown at Taeiri.

A set of OUTSTANDING shots here Andy! So much atmospheric feel to these. I love how several of them have those rays of sunshine shining down through the clouds, illuminating the ground. And then, the Electra, in her silver shininess looks right at home flying over that terrain and stands out very nicely. Well done!

Cheers,

Landon
